Hello, lately I've returned to the InvadedLands forums and I've seen a lot of different opinions about the staff team. I just wanted to share with you my thoughts on this.
First of all, I think the staff team is active in game, and looking for hackers/cheaters/xrayers. As far as I know or have seen, they try to keep chat moderated as well, and always do the appropriate action when a player is reported, but chat is really hard to be moderated due to the sheer amounts of messages coming through. Also, some of the things people say ("Shut up", "No one asked you", etc) are offensive, but often not enough for a mute. Having seen also the amount of good applications that got denied, back when they were public, I believe the people accepted as moderators are very qualified to deal with in-game stuff.
About the player count and queues, unfortunately KitPvP and Survival are two gamemodes that require all players to be in the same server; and I'm sure Invadedlands staff has done all they could to upgrade the server's specs, but after a certain point it becomes very hard to upgrade and the upgrades don't bring that much of a benefit. Take 2B2T as an example: the server is being constantly upgraded, yet the queue has thousands of players. So, Invadedlands staff to reduce lag decided to limit the player slots in KitPvP and add more slots to queues, where players aren't lagging the server as much as KitPvP or Survival and where lag spikes aren't too important. Had they not done that, and instead increased the slots in KitPvP and Survival, people'd have complained about the lag. So ultimately, their choice is the best one they could make, and it makes gameplay better.
About Discord and forums, instead, I think they've been kind of neglected, although I understand why; staff are already doing all they can, and on forums their time is occupied by reports, help threads, and ban and blacklist appeals. When I was on the discord server, there were a lot of toxic kids, suggestions chat was filled with unnecessary stuff and no response was given to suggestions, etc etc. When I made a forums thread about this, I discovered that many people only use the discord server for the announcements, muting every chat because of the constant spam and toxicity. Forums has suffered sort of the same thing, although I haven't been here a lot so I don't know if with the new forums things have improved. I have seen however lots of unnecessary threads, that however often can't really be dealt with by staff. I remember when Apex was here; he was incoherent and answered to one question every four asked in private messages (and not even fully), but at least he was active on forums and looked for active people when looking in the staff applications.
If you want, leave your thoughts below. Just please don't be toxic or annoying.
