pretty sure it's because he was doing it in a way where he could infinitely take money from people without them being able to do anything about it once they had fallen for it. usually i don't really mind people scamming because it's mostly the player's own fault if they get scammed, but

the way he was doing it was abusing the system pretty hard. most scams are a one time thing & then you learn from it, but it was physically impossible for the players to stop getting their money leached. i wasn't there for this situation but i agree with the punishment, it's a short ban anyway
