Hey man. Most of the players on here are pretty friendly and I am sure you can easily make a friend or two by just talking to people in the discord or in game.

I'm sure they will explain it to you in your appeal if you are confused about it. For now, just be patient and wait for a response.

I believe you need to have the certain permissions to use specific chat colors mid sentence. For example if you have access to chat colors you could say: &1Hi &2guys The "Hi" would be dark blue and the "guys" would be green.
