Necroposting people, why do you do it?

I'm seeing quite more than a few old posts that are bumped up.
Why? Just Why?

when I did it It was because I didn't know it was that old I was new when I did it
also, people often do it for jokes, but it's not necroing if its under a week old I thought

I think many people just don't recognize they are doing it. Some others don't want to really be active in the community, but they want the well known member so they scroll through community help and look for old threads where they can answer questions.

well i mean, if you joined the forums last week while staff apps opened and you post boost that isnt really gonna show much

Theyre probably trying to get Active Member for staff apps. As someone pending right now, im definitely active on forums, but I stop myself if theres no where to post. Some will scroll and find an old thread and comment just for sheer numbers
