Skeppy fans applying for staff

Hey everyone!
I just wanted to make this thread for all the new players who have come here through Skeppy's videos and are wanting to apply for staff, obviously this won't apply to all of you but I just wanted to make you aware that some misconceptions you may have are not true.

As staff on Invaded, you have a lot of duties some of which include, reading and answering player reports, appeals, and helping people out on the forums, as well as dealing with rule-breakers in game, helping people out in game and much more. You do not get to come on, make a video with Skeppy, troll some people with skeppy and then leave. Before you do make your application, think whether or not you are capable of handling these duties. If you think you are, by all means make an application! If not, I recommend you wait until a later season after gaining some experience.

Ik this isn't really my place to say and i'm not in anyway discouraging anyone from applying for staff if they think they would be a good fit but I know how many people apply for staff because they want to meet Skeppy and that isn't a valid reason why you should apply for staff. It's a waste of staff time going through those applications when it's clear what their real intentions are.

Like I said before, if you enjoy Skeppy's content and think you could handle being a staff member, i'm not at all saying you shouldn't, it's just to anyone who only wants to be staff to meet him, I enjoy Skeppy's content too but I play the server and am active in the community because I enjoy it so much.

Anyone who has applied for staff, I wish you the best of luck!
Thanks for reading
James
U need to be active on the server anyways skeppy fans, so make sure u meet all requirements ad dont lie about ur info.

100%
To all the skeppy fans that may be reading this post:
I don’t hate you, I never have. Sure, you’re excited at the chance of getting to meet skeppy. And that’s all fine, but you need to think about what else comes with moderator. As stated above, there is SO much responsibility involved with it. I’m not discouraging anyone from applying, but if you’re only here to meet your favorite youtuber, you need to work on some stuff before even considering applying.

Personally, I’m applying not to meet skeppy, but to actually help the server.
It is so critical to have met all the requirements, and to actually know the server.
Trust me, you don’t want to throw yourself into a moderator position if you’re not ready for it.

I agree with all of this thread.

I 100% agree with this, but they will all probably still apply. I think its probably really easy and quick for the staff who read over apps to see 2-3 sentence answers and just lock & deny the thread.

That being said, I do think that even if a couple people see this and decide not to apply, it does help the staff members out because it is 1 less person for them to deal with.

Yeah the time adds up, even it only takes 1 min to read through one and deny it, that’s 10 minutes for 10 people. It all adds up.

I agree with your point, but If they are a skeppy fan, but they’re capable of handling all the mod duties, then I don’t see an issue with them being staff the part of the team because they are capable. With that said, most “skeppy fan boys” who solely apply for attention by Skeppy or wanting to help skeppy for his video usually have their application turned down by the staff team simply because that is not the main duty of a staff member. Staff do help with videos sometimes if asked, but that is not the main duty; some fans misunderdtands the staff duties which I think is what makes them submit ‘troll applications’ in the first place.

I’ve further explained about the application process and the duties as a staff member on the application guide (that I made whilst being an admin) which is stickied on the community help section. You can access it here:https://invadedlands.net/threads/trainee-application-writing-guide.7133/

For skeppy fans who still can not find the guidelines and requirements (apex literally linked a post about this) , here are the rules directly from the statement.
  • You must be able to record videos of hackers/rule breakers at a reasonable frame-rate and quality. (Minimum: 720p @ 30FPS)
  • You must have a working microphone and be able to talk to us
  • You must be part of the server for at least 3 months
  • You must have decent past staff experience (banning hackers, muting/kicking...etc)
  • You must actually put effort into your application, if I see simple 1-2 sentence answers for questions that are expected to be much longer, you will be denied
  • You must have no more than 3 mutable chat offenses in the past 30 days of applying
  • You must not have been banned within the past 6 months of applying
  • You must be 14 years of age or older! This is for maturity and life experiences to better help you cope and understand the responsibilities of being staff!

Yeah, I get what you mean, I don't know if I didn't make it clear in the thread but I'm not trying to discourage anyone applying for staff, that's why I said:
"Before you do make your application, think whether or not you are capable of handling these duties. If you think you are, by all means make an application! If not, I recommend you wait until a later season after gaining some experience."
I just feel bad that the staff team have to go through so many applications from people who obviously only want to apply for one reason, and that reason is very obvious.
I enjoy Skeppy's content so this isn't directed to people who are fans, it's just the people who spam out the chat saying things directly towards Skeppy etc.
Thank you for your feedback though Apex!

no skeppy fanboy is gonna get accepted

I agree and I feel like cuz my name is "SkeppyCat" is what makes people think I'm a uhhhh... only a fan or something. When in reality I just never changed my name cuz i'm more known by this name than any other name lol. Like, what Apex said. A skeppy fan can be capable of helping the server and not just do it cuz they wanna "meet skeppy". Some have already met him many times and don't care for that. They just genuinely wanna help out. But for most part, yea, a lot just wanna meet him and that's it.

Very detailed, this explains pretty much everything about these skeppy fanboys. Be active and help out with the community.

I know that's what I mean, I know how helpful and lovely you are and that's why it's not aimed at all skeppy fans, just the ones who do only want to apply so meet skeppy.

If skeppy fans get accepted for staff , then something is most definitely wrong.
I think regardless if Skeppy fans want to apply by all means, I am sure staff will realize that some people applying for staff only want to apply for the sole purpose of being well acquainted with the youtubers Skeppy or Zelkam, or even just to abuse the power. I am positive the staff have dealt with this numerous times and are very aware of future applicants. I wholeheartedly agree though <3
