I agree with every single word on this post, except fot the "even on invadedlands". You should've said "Especially on invadedlands" as IL is one of the more pretentious server when it comes to letting staff in. You mustn't have a really terrible reputation or a lot of punishments or it'll be extremely likey you're gonna get your application denied.Introduction
Why hello there. Staffing is not easy and especially not to get, Even on invaded lands. So I am here today to bring you the dos and don't of a trainee, I will add addittonal things so it will help you further. You may not consider my information but it will help ''You may be wondering people have done this why are you doing another'' Well let me answer this, I haven't seen a user on the forums do something like this only explain how to write your application and what not. Let's get started. I also see many new players do what I am going to mention above and I feel these things I will state will clear up many of the things that you may do wrong.
Contents
Very simple, Just explaining what I will be talking about.
- Dos
- Don'ts
- QNA
- Conclusion
Section one | Dos
- Be a active member of the server and interacting with others frequently, I see many players make a forums account and ditch it until staff season, It happens nearly all the time. And when staff season is here they can come back for just staff season. You shouldn't do this honestly. Staff have the option to check this information and will keep a close eye on potential canidates like this, Canidates need to have a deep understanding of the server and it's rules before even considering applying for the role of a trainee, So I don't see any reason in rushing for the position right away, Bring up your rep and go from there.
- Report players frequently, This may not be required in your application process but it is strongy adviced that you do it, I recommend at least 5-10 reports a day. If you are a canidate and want to achieve the role of a trainee you will want to do those amount. Keep in mind that each season lasts for thirty days so if you were to do 10 reports a day, If I am not mistaken (Ordinary maths don't fail me) that would be 300 reports in the months, It is completly fine if you don't but I strongly recommend it.
- Write a decent application, This is rather simple, There have been many threads around this so I'm not going to go into detail about this one. I'm going to state this now take your time writing your application, Each season lasts for thirty days so I recommend you take at least a bit of time to revise your answers. I recommend you use google.docs to write your application as it will be always there and you will be able to access it at all times where if you use the invaded format all your hard work will go away. At the end of the day I always see it as quality over quantity, but it is important that you write lengty replies.
- Read the guidelines, I actually have to state this... Yep there are players who don't read the guidelines, I see many threads based on what the guidelines state, The guidelines are the most important thing in the whole application process, It explains the seasonal process and everything you need to know about the interview process. It also explains the requirements, so I don't know why you wouldn't. If you get at least anything from this thread read the guidelines
- Start preparing for a interview, I'm might be bonkers stating this. But if you have followed most of my things and you have been doing well, consider preparing for a interview. You don't know what they are going to ask, I don't either and if I did know I wouldn't state it at all, When you are accepted you will be brought for a face to face interview and expected to answer questions based on your application and your conduct on the server, You are expected to answer these questions almost instantly so I suggest you practise your speaking and interview questions, As stated I have no clue what they are going to say at all so don't think I know what they are going to say because I in fact don't.
Section two | Don'ts
- Don't apply because you want the rank or you want it for the fame, Staffing is so not for this kind of thing. You are meant to help others and the server not because you just want to, It's a bad thing to do and I'm sure your stay in the invadedlands staff team won't last for very long if you have that sort of attitude I'm going to be honest.
- Don't write what everyone else writes, I see many players write the same thing for the last question in the writing of your application. Be unique and write what you think would write, Think outside of the box and I'm sure you will come up with something unique to you.
- Don't be overly excessively post boosting / Mini-modding of any sort, This is one of the things members do because they think is right, I used to do it and I figured out it is not the way to go. What I stated above is enough information to help you achieve, To reguards to mini-modding, I see many users go back on previous threads that already have been answered many times, It's necroboosting and it's just uneeded. I'm not stating oh you shouldn't help others at all oh no that is wrong because I love helping others, but in a way where you are being over the top about it like in a thread where it has been answered a ton. I stated how you could help the server in the previous section because that helps nearly more than helping others.
- Expect the worst, I see many players from the previous time they applied complaining that they have been denied and it's unfair and they donated to the server and they took hours to write and what not, At the end of the day you are choosing to take the time out of your day to apply for the server you care for and enjoy nearly everyday, Always expect the worst as you never know
- Don't go into staffing without experience, Experience is one of the most important things on your conduct, it shows how you understand commands etc, It's a requirement. If you don't have any sort of experience I recommend you start out small, Because that's experience. Any sort of experience will be benififcal to you.
Section three | QNA
Alright, Now that we are done the thread. I wanted to address some questions that are asked rather frequently, here are some
Q: If I get denied can I reapply next season
A: Yes, it is always stated at the end of any denial message that you are free to apply next season.
Q: If I was banned does that decrease my chances
A: Depends of what it was, But if it was standard you would wait six months prior to when you reapply then. If you were I recommend you state what it was and this is not required but I would go into detail stating how you have changed and what lenghs you are going to take to ensure you will never recieve another ban
Q: Why does it say ''I reached the maximum amount of charaters''
A: Simple, Just post it your responses down in the comments.
Q: I don't understand why I got denied maybe it was a mistake?
A: There is always a reason to why you get denied in anything really, I suggest you bring it up with the person who denied your application but who knows it may be approved and accepted later.
Q: When do applications close
A: Applications opened April 8th they will close at may 8th, May extend due to final applicants and final decisions.
They're may be more but that are some I feel that come up reguarly.
Section four | Conclusion
Now that you are at the end of my thread, I would like to say thank you. I really hope you found this helpful. I know this thread may go unseen but I feel I have provided with good information and I feel I have done myself proud. I really hope I help people in the coming weeks leading up to the conclusion of the applications.
Good luck.
Thank you in advance also.
Thank you for that, I will be sure to change these things.I agree with every single word on this post, except fot the "even on invadedlands". You should've said "Especially on invadedlands" as IL is one of the more pretentious server when it comes to letting staff in. You mustn't have a really terrible reputation or a lot of punishments or it'll be extremely likey you're gonna get your application denied.
But then again, think this way: do I meet the minimum requirements? If the answer is yes, then attempt your best to write your staff application and always keep the mindset that you have a much higher chance of getting staff. However, if the answer is no, then I suggest just not writing a staff application as the mindset of "I'm basically wasting my time writing something only a few people will see once and will be ignored for the rest of it's existence" will be with you, sadly.
Fictons weren’t you trainee?Thank you for that, I will be sure to change these things.
Yeah, I noticed that. Even if I get denied I'm going to try and be more active. Also being active on forums helps other players even if it's not for a position, so I'm definitely going to be more active. Also my name being Sirpoopoo shouldn't have an effect. It's not toxic and I am calling myself Sir"PooPoo" not someone else. Not to be too mean, but it's highly unlikely that you would get accepted.
1 your ign is sirpoopoo. This doesn't really show professionalism/maturity
2 You joined last friday and thus have no forum activity. (if you start being really active rn staff will see through that)
I guess it’s a potty word ?Yeah, I noticed that. Even if I get denied I'm going to try and be more active. Also being active on forums helps other players even if it's not for a position, so I'm definitely going to be more active. Also my name being Sirpoopoo shouldn't have an effect. ITS an OG name lol, his opinion...I guess it’s a potty word ?![]()
That’s you..ITS an OG name lol, his opinion...
I was yes, during the summer of 2019.Fictons weren’t you trainee?
