After reading through Jorb's Thread about Issues with this server, all of which i agree with, I would like to propose a few solutions to these problems, as well as bring up one that Jorb didn't mention. I have only been on this server for about 3 months, so take my opinions with a grain of salt, as I'm not as credible as most members of the community.
KitPVP
The Majority of the server focuses on issues with kit, as it is the core of the server. With the recent network upgrade, less time outs have been happening, and I'm glad for that. But there are still many issues with it.
P2W-I am a non, I have the default kits like any other non. Most times when I'm fighting and I see someone with a colored name in diamond Armour, I just give up and let them kill me, as I really stand no chance against them. My suggestion for this is creating a new Server alongside Kit, Skyblock, and Survival. It could have a max of maybe 100 players and be a traditional KitPVP, but maybe have it be called "Mosh" or something like that to make it seem different. Have only 3-5 kits that are well balanced and focus on different aspects of pvp. I.E. Swordsman, Archer, Tank, etc. Ranks in this server could be purely cosmetic, or just be the ranks from KitPVP. This server could have No Durability, No Drops of items, And have the kit command clear your inventory. (In order to have people not combine kits). This could give the server an alternative to the p2w kitpvp. In order to keep interest in regular KitPVP, this new mode would be only pvp, no in game money, auctions, events etc. It could be a real test of skill for players, having a different leaderboard/stats for each kit. There are a lot of problems with this suggestion, and I would like to know the community's thoughts on this.
KitPVP Events-The KitPVP events, while very fun in my opinion, can have some improvements. Hopefully I am not alone with these thoughts.I'm not actually sure if the InvadedLands Developers have any control over these, or if it is simply a plugin that they didn't design, but I would like to make suggestions nonetheless //1v1 Brackets-This Event can take a long time, so maybe have multiple arenas? Or have a max of say 64 players, and have it actually be a bracket, rather than having 100 people watch 2 people fight for 30 minutes. (Maybe do the same for sumo, although, Watching sumo is much more entertaining than watching 1v1 kitpvp)//Race Of death-I like this game a lot, but the same players seem to win every time. Maybe the maps could be randomized? or have at least more than 1 map.//Wool Shuffle- This version is unique as you can actually pvp, unlike most versions of this game. I think The Pvp aspect should be used more, maybe have the map shrink as the game goes on, so the last 16 or so players aren't spread out, by that point of the game relies mostly on just going to each color quickly, rather than fighting.
Event Queues
Over the past few weeks, since Skeppy started giving away $1,000 5 times a week, paired with the COVID-19 quarantine, an extreme influx of people have been sitting in the event-a queue 24 hours a day. This has even been encouraged by a growing discord server with over 600 people focusing on just skeppy and his events. It used to be easy to do these fun events, you would just see "Go to hub 4" or whatever in chat and you get to do a fun event hosted by the server owner. Now, if you want a chance to do that, it means leaving your computer on 24 hours a day and not being able to play Invaded while doing so. Other than server lag, this doesn't cause too much problems, but the behavior shouldn't be encouraged by the queue system in place. The Staff should give themselves the ability to disable the queue for the event servers, this would encourage kids to actually be active on the server and play, rather than sit in hub just to see their favorite you tuber. This could free up some capacity to maybe increase player limits on survival and Kitpvp, since less people will be in the hubs.
I Would like to know what people think of these suggestions, I just wanted to put in my opinion on the current state of the server. I hope this thread can be seen by many in order to maybe put change in place for something.
