Second KitPvP server?

Second KitPvP server?

Here's an idea: We currently have one kit server. We clone the kit server. Connect it to bungee. When a player joins the kit queue, they will be automatically sent to the server that has less players to keep the player count balanced. Stats and map changes will transfer and be identical on both servers. The chat would also transfer across (like staff chat, but with global chat instead, just for kit.) Is this a good idea? Yes, there are a number of problems with doing this but let me know what you think.

There's no reason to create a second server. All they need to do is work on the current one.

As InvadedLands continues to grow, it's becoming harder and harder to maintain one kit server. More and more players join the network every day. Yes, a lot of them are just Skeppy fanboys but some just want to play on the server. At peak times, kitpvp is full and the queue can often exceed 150 players. There are also limitations in terms of the actual server. Minecraft was not designed for large multiplayer servers and it is difficult to optimise it for that purpose. No matter how much more memory you add to the server, it will still lag if you go past a certain number of players. This is why having a second server is good. Because it takes load off the main server and allows player counts to be balanced.

no? they just need to upgrade the current one's bandwidth and player capacity
Diminishing returns. Once again, The minecraft server software itself is not designed for large multiplayer communities. That's why large servers split them up and use Bungee to balance players between servers so that one machine doesn't have to deal with all the players. At some point, adding more memory and bandwidth won't help because the actual server software can't use all of it.

Dude if they bring back k1 and K2 I’ll cry of nostalgia
I thought that but I don't think he means that.

They're not gonna do that, I understand the idea but a lot of people like playing with their friends and it wouldn't be as easy like that.

No I'm saying they should have an identical KitPvP server which will sync all changes with the current one. To the players, it's just one kit server that they join in the hub. So you join kit as normal, and then the server picks which kitpvp to send you to. It shouldn't matter anyway since they are identical and chat is synced across.

Yeah that's one of the many problems with this system. They could set up some sort of party system. Yes, it's complicated, but it's worth it because you're essentially doubling your player capacity.
