Alright so first of all, #RipWqlk, we'll miss you bud. Now onto the real thing, a few days ago he got demoted right? Today is the date they open up Staff applications AGAIN, when they just closed them last month and the Trainees barely already passed their trial (congrats btw!). Now, I'm not one to make these type of threads because I generally prefer looking at the good of a server rather than the bad, but in Invaded's case, it's better if we bring the bad side to light more often because there are some other issues that are getting overlooked everytime.

Disclaimer: I do NOT want to see any sort of "If you don't like the server just leave lol" on this thread. I'm making this thread as I CARE for the server and I LIKE this server, hence I wish for the betterment of it.

Why open up staff applications again?

I'm pretty sure you guys are aware that, most of the candidates that were outstanding and should've made it past the application stage last season pretty much either left, or isn't going to apply again. Why's that? Because your requirements are easy to sum up as: "Zero mistakes or denied". What that means, the smallest, the most microscopic mistake that you do on here, will cause your application to be denied. Most of the amazing candidates last season had really dumb denial reasons, such as "Lack of activity (even tho they were online basically everyday more than an average player, actively on the forums etc.) or "Lack of maturity" and we're not even told what we're doing wrong by the Managers (unless you get denied by Zelkam, he expands on his denial reason) like what?? If you want us to improve you should give us some info as to what we're doing wrong.
Another point to mention is that, this server may have over 2k people on average daily now because of COVID-19, however, going back to what I said above, opening up staff applications with the "Flawless" requirement is a dumb thing considering 90% of this server's population are people q-ing for Skeppy's events, they don't want to partake to staff OR they do not meet the minimum requirements. This is easily fixable if you guys stop being so flawless on analysing the candidates that are applying, this is just a minecraft server you can literally coach the Trainees into becoming good staff members even if they have "average staff experience".

So what can you get from that point? Simple, make your requirements less flawless so that you can get more candidates into the staff team, I don't think it's THAT hard to allow more average people into the staff team because this is literally a Minecraft server, anyone can be a good staff member if you coach them in the right direction, and this is why you got Moderators and Senior Mods on the team, they can coach the Trainees for you.

Allow staff members to reach "Community Management" positions
This is something that I've seen different servers do (big example being Minemen Club), but staff members should be allowed to reach a "Management" position without having the actual "Manager" rank. What does this mean? Simple, a rank like "Platform Admin" that allows staff members to scout staff candidates and bring them onto the team after discussing with other Plat Admins or the Managers themselves, it's that simple if the Managers don't like said candidate they can just outright demote them and that's it, I don't see how this would bring any harm to the server, but rather it would help it improve the Community - Staff - Management communication better. This would also mean that you should actively promote staff members if they're outperforming, not once in a full blue moon, as well as trying to hire further AGC Admins, ban appeals STILL take unreasonably wrong to be reviewed, and it's wrong. Oh also, since we were talking about the Community Communication, let's hop onto that for a second!

The Management and Community bridge
This is quite obvious innit, the communication between the Management and the Community is done by Staff right? Well no, not really. From back when I was a Trainee, I haven't seen much communication happen between the Management and the Staff team itself, I know for a fact that Mega Zelk and Neon are secretive about literally anything they do, including adding things to the server, as well as staff candidates and you name it. Sure you can contact the Staff easily either through the main Invaded discord by pm-ing them, or here by tagging them in a thread or pm-ing on the forums, or hell even the Player Council discord, but can you really contact the Management? Not really, this is something that is gradually gonna damage the server if it doesn't get fixed (Again what I say about this may be outdated, anyone that knows this differently is free to correct me but as a player and previous "staff", this is kinda what everyone sees/saw). Please I beg fix this one at least communicate with your staff team and update them so they can keep US updated.

Money money money
This isn't anything too big, HOWEVER this is a major issue that can affect lots of people. The Ban/Blacklist appeal limitation. You have 5 ban appeals and 2 blacklist appeals that you can do, no more after that. Which is really wrong in my opinion, especially in cases like @Weirdillusions's case where he got false banned and appealed each time, and now hes technically FORCED to buy an unban to play on the server again. That's just wrong, please either remove the limit itself or make it not count for ban appeals that are false, not everyone gets false banned on purpose you know, so you can't really say "well they did it to themselves so why should they be able to appeal", no that's wrong. Either that, or you know, you can update to the latest version of AntiGamingChair, I'm pretty sure it would be no trouble for Neon to get that.

And finally, the McDonalds thread
Final point of this, @McDonalds's thread, by far the most visited and liked forum post on here. This is something that basically points out every related Invaded issue, I'm only expanding onto it in a different thread and I expect this one to be kept and debated about in a different manner than that thread is. Here's a link if you want to check it out: https://invadedlands.net/threads/are-you-seriously-questioning-why-people-are-leaving.17394/

So, in summary of this thread:
- Make Staff requirements less harsh and more acceptable for average candidates as they can easily be coached into becoming fit moderators.
- Implement the idea of "Platform Admin" so that staff members can reach "Management" positions and basically aid the Managers further.
- Management should become more communicative with their staff and the community.
- Ban appeals should NOT be limited if they're false.
- Stop folding everytime we make a thread about you guys, you know stuff is wrong if the community makes these things on you and folding from it isn't gonna make anything any better.

And I know I pretty much wasted my time writing this thread as the Managers will ignore it, but, well, at least I got my word out on some things that I saw as wrong.
Also please don't fold and close the thread, you're just gonna further prove our points.
No offense, but it seems every random in the book actually do just be tryna diss on invaded a y

No but fr, invaded has had enough. They are the business that is making this server come to life! Every time someone wants to be cool (when they're not) they make this fucking mess. I agree with you, yes, but pretty much every single point is copied from another thread. Each thread is their own literal **** up. All these points have been mentioned in other threads and I think invaded has had enough of these garbage inspired fucking quoted "articles". Final thing is that if you want to actually make a change and do something with your life. NEWS FLASH: YOU DONT DO THIS! If you want to make a change dm the admins, this is just autistic at this point that people even think this is needed to post a thread about saying "oh this server is just complete and udder shit" CUZ IT IS! The Admins know this at this point as I think they have developed over one IQ point to know that this shit is fucking bogus. Actually get a taste of the server and not just run around spawn like every Skeppy lookalike. I give no hate to McDonalds. He's made some new reasons to change their minds about the server. He was being a bit neutral so I am completely fine with that... BUT THIS FUCKING RANDOM THING IS NO EXCEPTION. I am not going to repeat my words as this is a digital document that you can read at any point. I don't want people to give this or any other bullshit thread lookalike attention of any kind. Sincerely, Benjiram. *seriously shut the **** up*

Now looking at it I have to agree the criteria is a little crazy
I'll give you an example: I was active 10h+ everyday during the last staff season, I was denied for lack of activity, sounds like a good reason? Nah G

Staff applications are open due to the playercount has almost doubled since the last time management opened staff applications, it's not really complicated, how did trainees "barely" pass the trial though? Try to mention what requirements you want to be less harsh too. Platform admin is not possible due to NDA restrictions. We do reset appeal limitations if the appeal was deleted or false but for now it is going to probably stay limited because of obvious reasons

I got denied for lack of detail, keep in mind they didn't say which answer had lack of detail, they just said "lack of detail or no meeting requirements, I AM MEETING REQUIREMENTS, but other than that I got denied because I didn't have enough detail on the way I have staff experience

Well, for one, if the person is clearly showing maturity and everything and you use "you need to be 14" as a reason to deny your blindly following the basic requirements, even though the requirement is there to make sure the staff are mature and can comprehend what it means to be staff on the server.

Arguing about it on a public forums isn't exactly demonstrating maturity. I explained to you in messages why your application was denied. The requirements are required for a reason, we make no exceptions.

Alright lemme expand on this real quick:

I understand that staff apps reopened due to the playercount being doubled, that's really fair. What I meant by the trainees "barely" passing is that, they passed fairly recently (congrats to them) and staff apps just reopened again, which was a bit odd, I meant no harm to them whatsoever.

The requirements are overall fine for staff applications, however the way they are treated by Mega and Zelk is what makes them harsh, looking only after the most flawless candidates instead of allowing "average" candidates as well which can be trained into becoming fit staff members.

Platform Admin does not have to be a rank that needs to have access to NDA-only things, it doesn't have to have access to AGC's logs or things that are meant to stay private and such, it would only be some sort of "Management" position that would allow them to be able to HELP with things like staff applications and be interactive with the community, teasing server updates etc to keep up the hype, if it's still not clear enough what a Platform Admin would be let me know and I'll try to expand on it further.

Im not sure how ban appeals go by now, however Weirdillusions' case where he can no longer appeal his false ban is kinda odd considering the fact that (I believe) his other bans were also false and now he's basically forced to buy an unban on the store to play again. Possible to look into that situation?

Anyway thanks for your reply and clarifying some things, I can upgrade the thread with some other info and I'm sorry for having things be not clearly explained.

My man I don’t even wanna hear it when you sucked your clout off of 1pick and even then barley two people know you. These threads aren’t to diss InvadedLands either it’s to bring awareness & point out the flaws. These are people who actually care about invaded not the people who can’t use 2% of their brain cells to figure that out.
I like your positivity, but I really don't care if I am a random. I like the server for what it is. I believe everything I am saying is valid.

well, ok. I guess you have a point.

and i do really appreciate explaining how i could do better, and everything like that. but i do agree with a lot of the things LayLim said.

Mods and up are already helping with applications so the only thing Platform admin would be for is to what you said "tease updates" but I dont feel like you would need to create a whole new rank just to tease updates and interact with the community because most staff members are already involved a lot with the community but these are then different parts such as survival or old servers such as K2. Weirdillusion can DM me via discord and explain to me his situation so I could look more into it. Not sure what flawless candidates were denied but in my experience the most flawless candidates have actually failed the trial and have most "dirt" on them but that's just my saying. Try to clarify this forum thread a bit more

Honestly, ive been Denied for 5 times for the same reason, "Lack of Maturity," Every season ive tried to improve on it, ive sent 10+ messages to managers and admins asking what im doing wrong, the only person who i really got a solid reply from was Hamodi, everyone else just aired it, Although ive given up on it, it wouldve been great to know what ive actually been doing wrong
When they have no reason to deny people that's what they say.

Invaded needs to give staff to people who actually know the community and are super active. Just cause you have an amazing app doesn't mean you would be good for invaded. For example, there are so many people that have good apps and are super well-informed ab the community but are denied due to stupid reasons like have a ban 5 months ago when the requirement is 6 months or lack of activity when your on invaded for 10 hours a fucking day. They look for perfect apps if you have a perfect app but arent active you will still get staff. Like hyperflames the new mod, no one knew who he was before he got trainee, he was a non on all servers. This man showed up right when staff apps were open and I guarantee he was not active for 10 hours a day or he wasn't active a bit before apps open. How did this guy get staff when he wasn't active at all and just doesn't know the community whatsoever when Laylim who actually knows the community and is on the ipc and was active 10 hours a day and had hella reports get denied.Hire people who actually are active in the community and know the community don't hire people just because they have 0 mutes or 0 bans or a good app.

I agree mostly. If someone has all the qualities needed, and is friendly, its likely they will get to know the community quickly.
