as I'm sure most of you know, survival is always dry to the bone with moderation. It gets no love at all except for candi and sometimes Neptune. and when other mods come, there here for literary seconds. now I know, other severs need lost of moding such as kit, but its very hard to keep people under control without a mod to be intimated from. I try to mini mod as best as I can, I can't stand to watch younger people quit because the cant find there home or are clueless how the sever works. its why survival can get dry with players because the help is simply not there. I am politely going to ask that if you are going to moderate kit for the day or skyblock, try a day of survival, we love you all!

before you ASK no im not apply for mod, or at lest i think I wont

I hate to be That Person™, but I am afraid you're quite wrong.

Survival almost always has a moderator online - a lot of us stay in vanish and moderate silently because we otherwise get absolutely hounded by players as we're trying to do our jobs. Obviously, when moderating such a popular game mode, some things may get missed - so the most productive thing to do instead of creating threads like this is to screenshot the offences and report them. ?

"Mini-modding", whilst potentially being seen by you as helpful, is almost never helpful and only serves to irritate others and reduce their enjoyment. The most helpful thing you can do to set an example is to appropriately report members breaking the rules, this ensures they get punished.

While I agree with your statements, Czech was mostly referring to all the new players that are confused when they log in and receive no help after asking in chat as to what they are supposed to do to start playing (if that makes sense).

I do struggle to sympathise with this view, the community should help these players out. Furthermore, there is a tutorial for a reason! Our primary duty as moderators above all else is to moderate - then if we have time we can help with in-game queries - but this isn't a given. Considering how busy the network is right now, moderation is our current priority.

The thing is, if mods come out of vanish to help a player who is struggling at the start, there will be a handful of people who spam the mod and just probably will end up irritating them. It’s not that hard to help new players at least on skyblock and usually a few people are sure to answer. I’d just try your best to help them out if your knowledgable and try to ask maybe some of your friends to help out the new players too just to be nice.

You have a point, but Its just hard to see survival players (especially those who are very experienced with that game) completely disregarding new players. I, personally, try to help anyone who messages me in-game or if I'm not busy grinding or something, I answer some of the noobs' questions in chat. Sometimes answering one question can help several different players, as I have noticed in the past.

Edit: Most new players don't know how to access that tutorial, so I propose a new addition: as soon as a new player joins the survival server, a link or direction pops up in their personal chat that could direct them to the tutorial.

That's great! Keep it up. :)

what i try to do. I tell people that im not a slave but a helper if that makes sense

Your sarcasm is appreciated, but I am afraid that it's not relevant. Even if we were consistently unvanished, we would still be harassed to the degree where it would be nearly impossible to efficiently moderate the chat.

It's up to you, but it's not really as helpful as you might think. By all means help players with their questions, but leave the moderation to us. ;)

its your guys job you should be helping people our of cover, if there where more mods it would never happen, but you do you

ok? my point is there are people in the mix of things that actually need help
Just because they are in vanish does not mean they aren't able to help. If a player is seeking help that can't be answered by any non-moderator i'm positive they would answer. It's completely ok to stay in vanish because with the servers growing numbers a bunch of new players just want to meet Skeppy and think the mods are their free ticket in. No matter if they stay unvanished or not they are always being asked of something that is not necessary.

I see that your primary concern here seems to be newer players needing help and not receiving it from moderators. I can not speak for the other staff, but personally, when I am online and see a player ask a question that gets no response from the playerbase, I will privately message them and help them with their question/issue. Just because you personally do not see things being done does not mean that nothing is being done.

As Periys said, if you notice someone breaking the rules, it is most efficient to create a player report. There is, majority of the time, at least one moderator on survival. However, sometimes things can be missed - staff members are, of course, human beings. We are not able to catch everything.
