There’s very few people authorised to check ban appeals so it may take a while.

Yeah, to be honest, there isn't any specific time they will check it, I feel it's more like when they are ready.
It can take as low as one day for non-escalated appeals, and 3-4 days for escalated ones.
Correction, there are very few people authorized to check escalated ban appeals.
