Not really, they won't move up because the server revolves around pvp and all versions above 1.8 have the new combat system in place with hit delay.
 
I have to say, as a new member, that players who pay for ranks/crates/loot have a MASSIVE advantage. I've even considered just paying for a rank, and that isn't right. A server that forces you to put your money on something just to stand a chance seriously needs to change.
