Serious suggestions for events

As it is, the system set up for events is not well polished. Trapping people in the hub where there is nothing to do is just not a good idea. I'm sure you've been trying to do something about this, but I thought I'd try to say something. It's entirely possible that the suggestions I bring up are impossible to execute because I don't have too much knowledge when it comes to developing a Minecraft server. I think that the best way to have a queue would be to put it on the invaded lands website. When it is time to do an event, you run whatever command is programmed to consult the online queue. That command attempts to tp the ign's of the first 100 people into the event server. If the tp doesn't go through because they aren't on the server, it just moves down to the next name on the list. To actually okay an entry into the queue, it should send a message into the person in-game to confirm and there should only be a certain allowance of entries per IP per day. Maybe 2 or 3. To make sure the queue doesn't have too many afk's, just reset it after every event. A system like this would allow for people to use their Minecraft for other purposes or play in different parts of the server up until it is close to the time for an event to start. It may also be a good idea to post the times that you will be hosting events. Again, I am not sure how possible any of this is to implement, but I hope that someone takes the time to read this

If you want a higher chance of your suggestion being implemented, join the InvadedLands player council discord and submit your suggestion here! :)

Invaded isn't necessarily "trapping" people in the hub. There are game modes anyone is free to play, but the players themselves choose to sit in the hub. Events are only hosted once in every blue moon. Now that more people are on the server consistently due to the fact that everyone is at home 24/7 for Corona is the only reason why events are being hosted almost daily. Adding a system would take quite a lot of time to develop and most likely rarely be used after the pandemic is figured out. In all honesty, I don't see this as needed. To add, people could bypass the IP entries by using a VPN which would completely throw this system off.

That is true. VPN would be super annoying to deal with. Again, I don't know exactly how difficult my proposal would be to implement, so I'm not going to argue with you on that side. On the aspect of the system not being used, I don't think that is entirely true. Most of the player base is in the UK and US. After this whole pandemic thing ends, there is still summer where people have an equal amount of time to spend as right now. There is also the fact that Skeppy is growing like crazy right now. The higher the subscriber base, the more people on the server. Even one aspect, like resetting the queue after every event would be a big help and super easy to implement as well. This would give more players the chance to possibly play in an event. This would also cut down the afk's in the top of the queue because people who are able to quickly re-queue themselves have a higher likelihood of being active. Also, on the point of people being trapped, I don't see why they can't be waiting in the queue for the event while playing kit pvp or something. That will also encourage less afk's. It is possible that this goes against how the entire server is programmed and if that's the case, then I understand why it hasn't been implemented.

Actually good suggestion. Usually threads about event queues are stupid, but this would solve multiple problems. Good suggestion.

I like your thinking.

Invadedlands isn’t made for event-a so please stop making suggestions for it

It is currently the main draw to the server with over 1000 people at any given time. Maybe not a main feature, but definitely where players spend the most time.

Well the player base weren't dvdn sypposed to know about the event servers or the command to queue for them. The queue isn't made for hundreds of people to join it, it was intended for less than 200 people to join the queue to be apart of an event.

Also, they won't be making any adjustments as the events weren't meant to be this popular, lol.

I understand that the queues weren't meant to hold 1000 people, thus the suggestion to reset after events. If a feature of a server that holds over half of the player base is not working properly, it is time to come up with a new system. It really is that simple, even if they only make minor changes.
