Crates and how they can be fixed

Crates and how they can be fixed

Is the order the possible drops are shown in the rewards section of /crates in order of the probability of them coming out? If that is the case then the probabilities need changing imo.
yes they are in order, so they need to fix to order or implement this feature

What do you mean? The feature isn't easy to implement, and the dev has declined other suggestions that are easier to implement, so why accept this that's harder?
your saying that the dev declines easier suggestions to implement. Now your saying why should he accept a harder one. are you saying that the dev does not implement any features from players??
you are not making sense

Let me say it better.
The dev doesn't implement features that are easier to implement than this one, so he will definitely not implement it. AFAIK, only one suggestion from players has been implemented, and it doesn't even involve the forums, so this one will definitely not be added because:
  • Kinda difficult to implement
  • Less stonks for IL high staff (Skeppy and maybe the managers)

I agree with your idea...but i also agree with system64 point ...It needs a lot of work and probably a lot of changes on the main code for such a thing..Also another good idea if they do not want to change the crate's system is to show up which are the possibilities for each reward by using percentage under each reward or category ..Then at least you know how many crates have to open on average in order to win a prize and you will know for what excactly you are paying for!

The problem is, they're using an already made plugin, so they have to get permission to edit it, actually edit it, remove bugs, make it compatible, test it...

Gonna quickly play devil's advocate here, the crates are likely random with higher weighted chances of getting something worth less than your crate but that is the same as any sort of crate or loot box in any game, it's also the same as gambling in real life. You put a bet on the football there is more chance of winning a lower value prize than a higher one, you buy a scratch card from the shop you have a much much lower chance of winning a good prize.

That's like saying hey I won £100 on the lottery but I want to trade it for £1000 pound because the lottery scammed me!
Lmao

Crates on invaded lands have been purchased a lot, many purchases every single day, making the server a lot of money. But with the server getting a lot of money, means that they could be getting that money in some bad ways. Some people believe invaded crates are a "scam" even though the mods claim that they are completely random.

Buying a crate can cost you a lot of money if you are buying it yourself. One Diamond crate key on the Survival server costs around 6$. The server claims that it was discounted from $8 however this item released as 6$. Buying these keys over and over can be addicting, and the money does add up. Buying 5 of these diamond keys costs around 30$, which is the same price of a pretty good guaranteed rank with Guaranteed perks. 30$ is a lot of money for some people, and buying the crates is probably a waste of money for them.

Yes, you have a chance at winning $1,000 In real life, but what are the odds of that happening? Odds are, its probably 1 in a million, or maybe even no chance at all. One of these diamond crates costs 6$, but opening them has a Very High chance of getting something worth under 5$. These crates also have a WAY to unfair rarity system. You have a higher chance of winning 2 op swords (around 800k each on survival) than winning 20 Million on survival.

People who get these Really bad items are mad at Invaded lands for Scamming them out of their money. This is why I came up with the idea of crate choosing( Believe I came up with it, not sure though). This is when you get something out of a crate, and if you dont like it, you can choose anything below that prize. For example, if you got 2 Op pickaxes from the crate, but you feel very scammed, you can trade in your reward you won for anything less rarer than it. If you won 2 Op pickaxes, you could trade it for 20 Million because 20 Million is less rare than it.

This feature would encourage more players to buy crates because they know that they can at least get something they might be happy with. It might also encourage Staff to change the rarity of the crates, and to make them give better rewards. This feature can be implemented on Survival, Kit pvp (especially), and sky block.

If the mods are not happy with this feature or want to change it, they can make it so that the player has only 3 down grading options at random. For example, if someone got 2 OP Pickaxes, they would have 3 Random choices of items less rarer than the item they won. This would also encourage players to buy more keys because it also adds more randomness to their final prize.

In addition, the crate prizes need A lot of work on. In survival, a rare crate key is 3$. Out of this, you have a Much HIGHER Chance of winning 2 chicken spawn eggs than 3 Whole kit immortals. 3 Kit immortals can also be won on a 6$ Diamond crate, but it has a lower chance of happening. This means you have a higher chance at getting 3 Kit immortals on a 3$ crate than a 6$ crate. Staff need to fix this and make crate keys balanced and actually worth it. This will help the server gain more support and funds, and also make the players happier.

Tell me what you think in the comments, I want to know what the community thinks of this idea.

Peace,
Luckyblockjack

(3.5 Million on Survival is 1 USD for reference)
