I would highly recommend building an obsidian box, and spawning him inside there with you locked in. From here it won’t be able to damage any of your island, and should allow you to kill it quickly.

You can trap them into the bedrock ceiling in the nether

Only have killed the thing a few times, still easier then letting it roam free on your island. lol.
