I was mining a stack of sheep spawners and saw the 20 second item clear. So... I was listening to music on youtube and it just hit 1 minute mark like 5 seconds after the item clear popped up. I wait until it gets to 1:25 just to be safe and I went to mine my sheep spawner. THE STACK OF SHEEP SPAWNERS INSTANTLY DISAPPEARED. It must have been a mistake i thought so i tried it again with a steak. item clear in 20 seconds, youtube video at 2:35. My steak disappears at 3:05. I really don't understand.
 
Wow this is actually shocking to me 1589032833063.png1589032806414.pngThe 1 minute one started when it said "item clear in 60 seconds" and the 37s one started as soon as it said "item clear in 20 seconds"
 
I assume probably TPS lag causes the seconds to no longer correspond to real life seconds, such as on 2b2t eating something takes up to 2-3 minutes.

The man knows about the tps lag on 2b2t and applied it to this, what a genious.
2b2t is a clearer example since players are aiming to lag the server often (particularly with all the furnace banning etc) and the server also holds more people (I believe 225?), but it's the same thing on InvadedLands: if the TPS is 10, 20 seconds for the server are 40 seconds in real life, if the TPS is 5, 20 seconds for the server will be 80 irl (server crashes when TPS drop to 0)

For anyone that doesn't know: TPS (or Ticks Per Second) is similar to the computer's FPS, it's how many updates per second the server manages to calculate. The maximum is 20; a server with 20 TPS is running at 0 lag. The more stuff the server needs to calculate, the less the TPS are. On 2b2t TPS are very important, because there are a lot of people so the server is constantly under stress, plus people often try to take advantage of "lag machines" (machines created with the purpose of overloading the server) to send too many updates.
