Announcement  KitPVP Reset (Important dates, notices, Information etc.)

Okay, the gameplay may have not changed a lot, but why is that a problem ? What do you want exactly ?
This server is a kitpvp, people come to do kitpvp, I don't know what else could they do.
A lot of people enjoy it and don't want it to change, how is that a problem ?
I don't have suggestions myself, although there has been a constant need of features requested by the community, that is very blatantly ignored by the management judging by this thread.
 
You can't just reply with a quote like that, I've already read that, and that don't whange the fact that lot of people enjoy the server now and don't want to change anything
Plus, if the features requested are denied there must be a reason.

The features aren't denied, they're very simply not read.
To give you an example of a fantastic feature that was requested multiple times would be Clans, something that if coded and configured correctly would improve and build interest of the server and gamemode by itself.

The people who "don't want to change anything" are quite honestly people who don't play the game correctly.
Fanboys in specific, a topic I wont get into at this time.

Clans ? Yeah, let's take that example. That is the kind of feature that would drastically change the gameplay of the server. And that probably would make a lot of people happy, I don't know, but what I do know is that it would also make a lot of people, including people who are here since a very long time (not me), very mad. That's a thing that would totally denaturalize (idk if it's the good word) the kitpvp. Why should they do that while they are so many peo^ple who enjoy the things how they are ?

Clans have been here since forever. Rebirth, Alpha, etc. They have been here since forever and a simple clans feature didn't stop them from keep going and eliminate their targets. You might see clans as an extremely big and drastic change to KitPvP, but trust me when I say that it really is not. The only thing it would change is a way to define where you are from and bring a little more competitive spirit to KitPvP now that monthly rewards are gone and these clans will more than likely force their members to meet some kind of requirements in order to be defined as "one of the bests".

I'm gonna go back to my winter rest state.

9 days ago, the KitPvP server officially completed it's typical 6 month cycle without a reset.

Today, this thread was written simply to address some of the additions and changes, as well as tackle some questions for those of you who are not familiarized with the concept of "full server resets" already.


When will the server be reset?

We plan on resetting the server on Friday, June 19th 2020 @ 2 PM EST, however the server will be whitelisted until then, starting Thursday, June 18th 2020 @ 4 PM EST. The reason we whitelist for such a long period of time before fully re-opening the server is because we need time to properly move over new content & changes, as well as to verify everything is fully functioning and in working order before launching the server.

What will be reset?
  • Player Inventories
  • Player Warps
  • Ender Chests
  • Vaults
  • Auction House
  • Statistics
  • Balance
  • Reclaims
All of the above will be reset on the date specified, we do these biannual resets to take items, statistics and such out of the cycle, essentially refreshing the server and putting everyone on a level playing ground for a while and giving us a chance to put in new content.

There's a lot that has been changed but my intentions are not to bore you with a massive changelog, so I'll only go over a few of the large additions / changes, and future plans in the following sections.

Maps

Majority if not all KitPVP related builds, will be replaced. The reason why I chose to include this here is due to the drastic change in style of the main map, as pictured below.

We tried keeping the main areas flat so it's perfect for PvP, whilst still having discrete locations, such as the underground caverns etc.
Majority of the mountains are behind a barrier, you will not be able to climb them, however there are trails on the edges of the border that travel all around the map.

This map was our attempt to switch things up, listen to both sides, and change accordingly to make as many people content as possible, however I am aware not everyone will like this design, criticism is welcome.


Duels

We recognize that this is a feature that's been requested for a long time, so we'll deliver.
The last time InvadedLands had duels on KitPvP was in 2015-2016, and it was an essential part of the gameplay. Right now, duels are more popular than ever and it's only appropriate to incorporate this into the server.

On release we will most likely have the following server kits available for duels;

  • PvP
  • Daily
  • VIP
  • MVP
  • Pro
  • Lord
  • God
  • Overlord
As well as some other non-server style kits such as;
  • NoDebuff
  • Archer
  • GApple
All duels can either be normal, free duels, or you can duel with a money wager.
Like a typical wager, winner of the duel wins the wagered amount from both sides, large wager duels will be broadcasted to the server as they end.


Future Plans

We plan on giving KitPvP content updates throughout it's cycle before another full reset, there are several things that will be worked on depending on community feedback; examples of these updates could be as small as team duels, self explanatory, dueling as a team against other teams for wagers or changes as drastic as knockback & kits, all dependent on community requests. Any aspect of gameplay could be changed.

Refreshing the experience is our goal, for those that are newer & those that have been here for a while.

Indeed, I'm quite new, but I'm well aware of that Clans thing. In my opinion having them existing on the server is far to be the same thing as making them "official" in the server. For many reasons. That could really have important consequences that would totally change the server. Anyway, that is not the topic, and I'm tired of this conversation too. We probably won't change each other opinion, so have a good day/night mate
