I’m pretty sure there was already snippets of info and he wanted to admit before the majority of people knew, he told people to act like he had cancer (his friend) for at least another month And he only admitted when he did because people were catching on to him

As much as I hate to say it, I had a strong feeling it was fake, especially after the "chemotherapy." I am no medical professional, but I know that if you are told you have a week left to live, then chemo ain't gonna do much. Also, I am not sure on this, but i think that chemo takes weeks of time to complete.

The person only has to apologize to who s/he lied to; Not the entire community, but s/he still is apologizing. Although the things you did isn’t cool, I admire the bravery to stand in front of the toxic community to be open and honest about mistakes.
It disgusts me how some community member just visits this thread, and bash on this user even though they had nothing to do with this situation nor they were lied at. I understand if you present your anger if you were directly involved, but if you're bashing the user for mistakes they admitted, and you're not directly involved whatsoever and simply here to bash on someone for putting themselves in a vulnerable situation, that's a disappointment.
Hope you can learn from the mistake though.

I think they would’ve already locked it if they really were planning on it, the thing is from what I’m hearing most staff members were also affected by this directly, so I’m not sure if this’ll be locked, but I do appreciate your sentiment and understand what you’re saying <3

^ This is something a staff member should be saying to prevent the spread of drama IMO.
Edit: Something LIKE THIS should have been mentioned by staff to prevent the user being publically harassed.
I agree with you there, I think people assume since the staff expressed their disappointment whilst the player not realizing they were (The staff) directly emotionally damaged from this situation, that people automatically assume it’s ok and fill the thread with toxicity while not being directly affected.

Undoubtedly, however, both courses of actions will cause furthermore damage, if we continue to not lock this thread, then people will furthermore fill this thread with toxicity, on the other hand however, if we lock the thread, it’ll most likely cause a large influx of other threads that the staff would manually have to delete.
