Items despawning can be annoying. You probably have lost a few good items to item despawn even though it was not announced in chat or you were not paying attention. Last season people lost many spawners and valuable items to them. This season it is the same thing. Items are despawning at the wrong time.

Earlier today my team lost around 34 cow spawners to clear lag. They were going to sell all the spawners for around 20 million, which is a lot of cash at this time and could help out our team a lot (Seeing that blazes go for around 200k right now). I know that this has not been the only case of spawners despawning this season. People have lost a lot from item despawning, and I think they should change that.

I believe that the server should despawn items every 5 minutes, with a working countdown in chat. The server has a countdown in chat, but it doesn't always work and comes at unexpected times. I think that instead of saying that items will despawn in 1 minute, then 30 sec, then 20 sec, then 10 sec, they should just make it count all the numbers from 10 or 20 down to 0. It does not have to be every number, maybe just multiples of 5 each time, and a proper countdown from 5.

I also think that the following items should not be despawnable, including the reasons, most needed to least needed:

Any spawner (They are valuable, very needed)

Certain mob drops (Blaze rods mainly. This is because when grinding blaze, your grinded loot can despawn making those blaze you just killed useless)

Valuable blocks/items (These would be beacons, wither skulls, and items that cost a lot in the shop)

Enchanted weapons/items (Certain items are hard to get, such as a god sword, and if you want to give someone it, it could
despawn and you could lose it. This has happened to me and many others a lot of times)

Any maps (Certain maps/map arts are rare and are hard to get, especially if you did not make it)

Valuable materials (They are valuable, but you can still buy them in the shop and are pretty easy to get)


If these changes are made, people will lose less, gain more, and have an easier time on the server. I think these changes needed to be stated, and put into action a long time ago, early last season. I hope some staff see this, and inform neon about this issue. If you disagree with anything, put it in the replies, and I might reply back lol.
