World war 1: we entered the war on UK, US and France's side with the promise of getting Istria and the Dalmatian coast, areas with lots of Italians. Wouldn't really count that as a disappointment; what is a disappointment is that the pact was not respected by UK US and France.Imagine disappointing your people in both world wars COUGH Italy COUGH

World War 2: Mussolini enslaved the country and had to force people to follow him (unlike in Germany, where Hitler was voted), and in 1943 the members of HIS OWN political faction kicked him out. The north was literally INVADED by Hitler and the Italian population fought against this; the advance of UK and US and everyone else from the South was often met with cheers and celebrations from the crowd. Again, not a disappointment. Also, Mussolini's plan was to restore the Roman Empire, not destroy an entire race.
Not a disappointment, again.

Italian people were outraged, as the promised land was not giving in ww1. The following war, itally fails to invade Greece, Egypt, and is embarrassed by Ethiopia. A political power aided by the worlds strongest mitaltary (German military) failed to invade Greece, In fact, the pushed into Italian Albania. Italy failed to take Egypt, a large dessert defended by around 5000 people against Italy's much larger and "stronger". If that wasn't enough already, They Surrendered before anyone else.World war 1: we entered the war on UK, US and France's side with the promise of getting Istria and the Dalmatian coast, areas with lots of Italians. That's what happens when a dictator rises to power enslaving a country. Italy "surrendered" (switched sides) because the people kicked Mussolini off. Italy was literally invaded by Hitler and the allies. Really doesn't look like much of a surrenderItalian people were outraged, as the promised land was not giving in ww1. mussolini did what they call 'ethnic cleansing' and killed off thousands of libyans in order to make space for italians, as well as the fact that he was killed by his own party, as he disappointed the peopleWorld War 2: Mussolini enslaved the country and had to force people to follow him (unlike in Germany, where Hitler was voted), and in 1943 the members of HIS OWN political faction kicked him out.
