I cant place crops help

I did a farm to place crops and carrots but its not working!!! When i place them toghether they dont work, and when I place them separated they still destroy but take a little more of time. Is this a server thing or how do I fix this???????'!!!1

i’m willing to bet you need a higher light level at your farm. try adding light sources

you need more light, if there isn't light near plants they just die when updated by randomtick. that's why when you separate them its slower, as less plants are hit with randomtick, so it appears to remove them slower

Thanks!!!!111 that worked, I was using a gamma texture pack so I didnt know that.
