hi, so i compared clients, blah blah, forum post
i tried all the major clients (Minecraft Launcher but ill just call it vanilla lol, blc, and lunar) and im just gonna give my opinions on them
(keyword opinion dont flame me in the replies)
(also this is on my personal hardware, opinions will vary for other ppl depending if they have a god pc or a school pc lmfao)
Badlion Client 2.0:
meh.
I like the version selection, wide variety compared to lunar (obviously puny compared to vanilla) and also had a bigger variety of mods. most of them are the same on blc and lunar, but idk i like the wider variety.
But the issues are noticable, you have to pay for Insider to unlock more customization features, and it shoves its cosmetics down your throat when you open the game. Besides that, decent client. FPS stable, doesnt crash all the time (varies, whenever i have obs open it crashes but again, hardware selection will decide if it crashes alot)
4.5/7
Lunar Client:
bruh.
Ok so no doubt lunar is a popular client here (ESPECIALLY ON KIT DWAMDAIDMAWDMA) but this one i have issues with.
First, i love alot about this client. The simple UI, not shoving cosmetics down your throat, and you can even make it look like vanilla minecraft (or so i've been told). I played an hour's worth of Skywars with lunar and it was actually decent at being a little pvp client. BUT, within the hour or so of skywars i played, the frames dipped. every round. I wouldnt call it unplayable, like it doesnt do it that much mid-match, but at the start its disgusting. The settings are the same as my 1.16.3 Optifine client settings, and while the frames were pretty good (even sometimes going over my optifine client's top fps) the frame dips were more noticable and happen far more frequently than on the Optifine Minecraft i use.
So to wrap it up, lunar is a good pvp client, i have had SO MANY FRAME DIPS THOUGH so i cant recommend (depends on hardware if your frames dip at points, but for me, sorry, gonna be deducting points from lunar there)
3/7
Vanilla:
Best client.
7/7.
Okok, why is Vanilla my personal favorite. because holy shit its just better. Theres not much to really say, I just enjoy the simplistic look of the launcher, the fact most versions in minecraft history have been kept in the launcher and can still be played at good frame rates. The game itself and launcher dont shove cosmetics in your face, nothing too p2w from minecraft's end, plus its iconic to look at the main menu. Also no forced servers in your face that you cant remove from the server list (ahem lunar network ahem). Also the addition of other clients, such at Optifine, Forge, Labymod, the list can go on and on. Personally i just chose Optifine 1.16.3 and the load times dont take 10 years (ahem badlion ahem) and if you just play the normal versions of the game, yes sometime's they push updates to the versions, but it doesnt freeze the starting of your game (ahem lunar ahem) (also hardware depending aka good wifi = this issue doesnt happen) and its just quick in the minecraft launcher. But downside that could happen in the future is Microsoft actually banning minecraft accounts for like hacking and stuff, practically killing anarchy servers (this has happened to bedrock already) but its unlikely (and its in the future so until it happens no points deducted)
So vanilla > all, just an opinion, dont burn me please lmao,
7/7
k thats it this took SO LONG to write, bye lol
