(TL;DR: Don't think you're safe because you have Prot IV Thorns III, keep a backup set, and take user ihyJxson's corners tournament with a grain of salt.)

I joined a four corners game hosted by ihyJxson, to which I paid 50k in total for revives. By the end of the tournament, I was the last standing. I thought I'd be fine to keep PvP on, since I was wearing Prot IV Thorns III chestplate, leggings and boots.

Once everyone else left, he turned and looked at me, hit me with his fist. He didn't seem to notice my thorns reflection, somehow, and started trying to kill me almost immediately.

Funny this is, he was wearing low-tier enchants out of fear that he'd lose his good stuff. So I ended up killing him about 7 times, since his respawn was right in the tournament. Eventually he pulled out a stack of god apples, and I lost the armour & sword.

For reference, this tournament was claiming to have a $1m reward. I'm not overly upset about it, but I wanted to share this so that others don't get scammed by ihyJxson. This is why you have a backup set, lol.

(Before you get mad at me for killing him so many times, every time he came back he would be on the assault again. I was going to give him his armour back, but I was pushed into a bad situation. He would've probably attacked me more with it anyhow.)

Oh, it's mostly just a reminder & a warning I guess.
If 1m is nothing, 50k isn't really cringe. The whole game of corners is luck, it's basically the definition of gambling.

I didn't post because I wanted people to care, just a story if anyone wants it. I don't expect anyone to, since about half of the players here are semi-toxic 13y/olds anyhow. If you don't like what I say, then hey, it's just a game. We move on.

Only gambling once you buy a revive because until that point you aren't in a position to lose anything.

I understand the sentiment behind this original post and it's refreshing to see it actually structured so well however you aren't gonna get much sympathy or support from the hyenas on this forum.

I mean I got murdered by someone using the end crystal thing and I didn’t complain I just learned... anyone who uses the forums and will see this thread has a 97.14% chance of already knowing not to keep pvp on but ok
