Question About the Mob Cap

I recently learned that there is a 75k mob cap, but I was wondering if that cap was chunk based, or island based. Like could I put the mobs in separate chunks to spawn more than 75k? I figured out a mob grinder design that could raise the mob cap to 300k if everything is chunk based...

i believe that it's not based on chunks, but just based on how far away they are. i believe the limit is 20 blocks, so if you have 75k mobs 20 blocks away from your spawner, it will still be able to spawn.

so if i had a water system bring them more than 20 blocks away from the spawner, then it would just keep spawning?

If the water system took them all to the same place that area would then reach the cap.

For example the cap on blaze is 60k then if you push a 5th stack to the location to make it 75k then they will start to start to slowly despawn back to 60k

I have done thorough testing with the mobcap. from my testing, I have found its not chunk based, or island based. Separate the groups of mobs 24 blocks from the closest 2.

I am confused, what do you mean by "the first 2" also how would i keep them from despawning?
