The proxy is basically how it effects your ping.
im from EU, so my proxy is EU, where I get the lowest ping

it's not, it's actually default java. lunar client and badlion client automatically hide the numbers.

Some servers are set to a default proxy.
hypixel. Hypixel has NA as their default proxy. And the only proxy u can use. And NA players will get lower ping.

If you use “geyser” on pocket edition, you can join any Java server
