Would you use a 3rd party marketplace with the only purpose is to get rid of scamming

I have no idea what you mean
The idea is you make a message in the discord server saying "selling x spawners for x" if they scam they get banned from the discord. If enough people use it for expensive items it would make it harder on the scammer. I know discord.js and could probably make a bot that makes you import your ign.

Edit: also irl trade adverts can have their own channel if u want to complete an IRL trade.

it’s been suggested multiple times that scamming should be punishable, but it’s simply not going to happen to to the fact that it’s so hard to tell what’s a scam and what’s not, and who’s scamming who, plus others factors which I won’t go into because I’m very lazy

I'm not talking about punishing the actual person ingame. I'm saying if enough people use the discord and the scammer tries to scam on the discord they are banned from the discord.

See, same issue. How would the staff know if the persons scamming without going ingame and checking? Plus there would be countless reports and it would be overwhelming

I have a plan in my head about how to handle the reports so that wouldn't be an issue. All reports require video evidence and I bet when I discuss it with some other people it would actually work.

Again, even with evidence it’s still hard to establish what’s a scam or not. It just won’t work. If you are really sure about this plan then you can make a suggestion in the correct section

This is the right section because suggestions are about the server.

dude ur in server discussion -> skyblock
you should be in support and reports -> suggestion
No because this has nothing to do with Invaded officially.

Anyways @Vince I get where you're coming from but if all that's stopping someone from scamming someone is a ban on a 3rd party discord server. I don't believe that will stop many scammers. If anything scammers might just use the server to find easy targets not caring about the ban. Overall the problem I see is the lack of power you would have over scammers.

First of all, as someone who has been programming in Discord.js and JavaScript as a whole for around a year now, you should probably be aware that if you make a verification command that simply surrounds inputting your IGN and being named as them in the Discord Server, then your bot is simply inefficient. That would require, at minimum, access to a Minecraft Server, create an API for it, and so much more for the single purpose of making a bot that solves an unfixable issue. For maximum efficiency it would require access to Invaded's API if they even have one.

For your actual idea, it does not find a solution to anything in regards to scamming.
Both Minecraft and Discord accounts are very easy to produce with a very low price to it, resulting in the preexisting idea of alternative accounts in order to scam more people, starting from fresh every time. The fact that the actual server's combat against scammers doesn't do much to stop them by itself, I don't see a community's fight against scammers being very efficient nor effective.

As mentioned so many times before scamming won't be punished. Adding a 3rd party marketplace would change trading too much for a normal InvadedLands player. Also, there are so many features that could easily help you to not buy unwanted stuff/get scammed such as /trade <name>; /tcs (/togglechesttransactions); being able to make a Player Report (for IRL Deals) if you bought someone something and they didn't give you the said items in-game (suffered a real-life financial loss).

More information about /tcs can be found here: https://invadedlands.net/threads/prevent-buying-selling-from-to-chest-shops.79077/
