Why are the hires staff still here. I understand one is a alt for another former staff member, but the other one should go.

Even though the person who got externally hired hasn’t done anything wrong yet, they all need to go through the same application process.
or maybe they don’t because they were externally hired due to the proof that was already found by management they were qualified… and on top of that it would also be a huge waste of time imo
They can’t just get a free pass, just because “they know how to staff”. HyperFlames Decay and e_ic know how to staff and they still had to apply.

yes they can if they are hired externally and they did. why do you only question it when it's mods? what about the externally hired developers and managers?

Quite honestly, I think this is a pretty pointless take.
The reality is nobody knows who this additional person is. Maybe they're also an ex staff member on an alt? As long as they're good at the role, I couldn't care less and tbh neither should you guys - give them a chance. In terms of promotions/demotions, let the team take the steering wheel from here now that the toxic proponent is out of the picture. I think they can manage

I appreciate that, however it shouldn't matter either way, if people have decided that they're capable of the role, then let them have a shot. If they're no good, the only people it reflects badly on are those that made/agreed to the appointment and they can take the flak for it. An external mod would have the capacity to do way less harm than our recently departed external manager - one step at a time, guys.
