Hey everyone! Welcome to a project me and some friends have been working on for some time. We hope to get some support around the idea, come check out our proposal to management here:

Brief introduction: The IPC was a place to submit suggestions and feedback in the past. It was founded by @ApexWasabi around 2 years ago, and shut down due to many suggestions not being considered by management. However, after much consideration and thought I think that an improved, more effective IPC is something the community can benefit off of now. The document above dives into finer details about the idea, and I appreciate all the support! < 3

i’m not too sure about the whole councillor idea because you’re really just going to be funneling ideas to “OG” players it seems like, and don’t take this the wrong way but would the councillors have all the input or would the entire community have a say on what passes on and what doesnt?

The system I have in mind is that councillors will vote on suggestions that are created, then it would be put into a suggestion voting channel for the community. This would be public and after a certain amount of time suggestions with more votes would be sent for moderator review. So to answer your question, yes the community would be a really big factor.

Also, councilors would be players of all types in the server, and would go off of knowledge for the server rather than bias (as much as possible)

As a former member of the IPC near the end, I think this would be a positive addition to the community for a few reasons:

1.
The suggestion forum isn't often checked by staff (or so it appears so). This ensures the staff team doesn't need to go through all of the suggestions. The councillor's are able to run through the suggestions and only approve the ones that are needed. Which can be forwarded to Management. This leaves staff for other jobs instead of running through suggestions, some of which are jokes and waste the teams time.


2.
A lot of people believe that staff just don't care about the community. They do based on a couple conversations talked about surrounding the affixes threads. This would ensure the community does feel
heard and as stated before, frees up the team for other tasks.

3.
A lot of people agree Invaded isn't in the best state at the moment. This gives a chance for the community to rebuild strongly based on what the community wants.

Back when I heard news the IPC was closing I thought it was a positive impact on the IL community, I still believe it is and should be added back.
 
Never saw this in my life, sounds like a cool idea though. Only thing is how can you be sure the Moderators/Admins will give a damn on any opinion the community and the council has? Back in the day pretty much any criticizem or suggestion would just be ignored completley. I don't know how the ICP went but I'm sure they had also the ignorance problem.

I used to be a jr. councillor on the ICP.

Back then, the suggestions approved by councillors were forwarded directly to Management. A fair bit of the suggestions weren't implemented, however some were. The IPC is just another way for us to filter the suggestions before we give them to management or staff to ensure we only give them the ones that would be good for the community, meaning they wouldn't get the ones that have no benefit or the troll ones.

This is one of the things I addressed in the document. The old IPC had this issue, but the difference between the two ideas is that this one would have direct management involvement.

Could you elaborate a bit more.

Last time we were essentially run by an IL staff member, how would the new one be differen?

The system did not work out before because suggestions were delivered to management, but were often ignored. Now that new blood is on the management, might as well give it a try and see how it goes. No credit tho?

take my vote, i’m just hoping that the council is based on people who actually care about the server and not themselves. (again dont take this the weong eay there are just some people out there… yk)
