InvadedLands Reformation

**This thread outlines the specifics of a detailed plan to allow Invadedlands to grow and prosper once again. I strongly encourage you to read through this entire post.**

**disclaimer** this is a collaborative post, not everything is written by me. Multiple opinions from different people from different comms were asked about the current situation

The Current Problem:

At our current point in time, Invaded Lands is in an extremely unstable position. There are a multitude of problems with the server, in this document, we will touch upon the recent issues and ways to improve invaded lands for the better

Instability among management:

In the past 2 months, we have had 4 separate people take over the management position on invaded lands. The first 2 managers that were instated have faced immense backlash and have been ridiculed and removed from the server. The current two managers, Luke (LukeLovesCandy) and Lumboc have been facing the same amount of backlash, but are still holding the manager position. These individual managers have been accused by the community of several unprofessional actions, and yet still have been deemed “fit” to manage the server. A detailed forum post including 16 pages worth of community replies will be linked (https://invadedlands.net/threads/the-current-situation-v2.92809/) as evidence to support how Luke and Lumboc are unfit for their position as managers.

  • Dying player count:

Over the past six months, the server's player count has been decreasing at a rapid pace. In short, this rapid decrease of players is due to a lack of updates, resets, new gameplay, and most of all, media/advertisement of the server. There are hundreds of posts on the forums of people slowly leaving their beloved server. There are also several posts documenting the slow fall of invaded due to the lack of content mentioned previously.

Lack of player involvement in server related items:

Over the past few seasons of invaded, players have been feeling as though they have minimal say in the direction of the server. This lack of communication between the player base and staff team leads the server to fall into a downward spiral of negative outcomes. The management and staff team needs to consist of Invaded players who care about the future of the server and its community and are aware of what the server truly needs to improve.

Luke and Lumboc:

Lukelovescandy and Lumboc were recently promoted to the position of manager during a time in which the previous manager, Affixes, was in charge. The majority of the community felt as though this decision was rushed and was not the correct decision for the server. It is evident that Luke and Lumboc truly do care about the server, as shown through their performance during their previous ranks. However, this has also shown the lack of dedication and knowledge which is needed for a position as high as manager. The responsibilities of the player-manager have rested on the shoulders of Hayech, who we are very grateful to have on the team. However, Hayech cannot carry all the weight on his shoulders and deserves someone who is knowledgeable and dedicated to work alongside him. With the institution of player managers that are straight from the community, Invaded will have a chance to re-grow and prosper.

Proposed solution:

We believe in order to turn Invaded’s decline around, changes in management must occur. Firstly, the vast majority of the community calls for the removal of Luke and Lumboc as server managers. Their efforts for the server will not go unnoticed, however, as managers, they bring very little to the table regarding experience, dedication, and overall ability. They’ll be able to do their duties effectively as admins and have proven to do so, but they are not the answer the community needs at this time. To replace them, we encourage community members who have had experience staffing and playing on the server to assume the role of Player Managers. We believe this addition will offer a unique dynamic that is not common on servers and will allow Invaded to prosper.

In terms of media, videos, and content on and about the server must be created in order to bring in new players. While providing the community with excellent managers will help bring back old players, for Invaded to thrive, new players, need to be invited to join as well. Media such as an alternative skeppy channel dedicated to making videos on his server is something we as a community deeply consider to be a great option.

Player Accounts

**Below you will find a collection of valued community members and ex-staff accounts, all explaining their take on the current situation and how to move forward.**

NinentyPercent:

My first interaction with Luke was years ago during season 3 of survival. My teammate Acruse and I were lava casted, but it was too far outside of our claim to be bannable.
Luke abused his power to expand our claim into the lava cast, making it now bannable. Shortly after he banned RoxasAF for it. While bringing up something seasons ago may seem pointless it is a basis of what I’ve seen and expected from Luke during the past 2 years of being here. Obviously, my main problem with luke is his inability to lead the server, but I would even go as far as to question his staff position completely. From the two years I’ve been here I’ve never seen an admin or any staff member go completely inactive and noncommunicative to the community for so long with no repercussions.
From a nonstaff point of view, it looks like Luke waited until the right moment, and when he realized he had a chance at being manager he became active. While on the server for years there has been much staff that has worked for years despite having a rank lower than his and yet still manage to remain active and put out notable contributions. These staff members include krypto, zacky, lion, and many others who have resigned. Leaving Luke as manager only further makes us players question the future of the server, as we know first hand of the staff members who have actually helped us. It almost seems like Luke jumped at the chance to be a manager without having to work for it. Further on this past two weeks Luke and Lumboc have made some surprising forums comments, that show clearly they aren’t fit to be the face of the server. In fact, they are rather embarrassing when you think of the previous management and how they portrayed themselves (up until the end obviously). In my opinion, the managers should certainly communicate and be transparent, but when Lumboc is talking about their relationship status on the forums it’s almost laughable when compared to previous management who were much more job-focused. Luke has also made multiple statements focusing on the fact it’s not his fault for the resignations. While it’s not fair to hold him accountable for all of them, the ones happening recently can be directly related back to him. It’s frightening the newly appointed leader of the server cannot even take ownership of his mistakes. Instead Luke wants us to believe it’s the fault of the same staff members who’ve helped us diligently for years, which will not be happening.
This alone is a pretty sad excuse for what we expect to be a manager. I could also sit and go on for ages about his past embarrassments with edating other members of the community, but I’ll keep it short. That whole situation is just an awful look for invaded lands, so I question why you’d want that kind of reputation leading your server. With that all being said I truly do feel like invaded lands will die if not given a real manager. A manager who is already familiar with the server, one that doesn’t have a negative reputation such as Luke, and someone who has been active throughout their time on the staff team.

Flured:

I first joined the Invadedlands community in August 2017. I was introduced to a whole new setting of kit pvp, player base, staff team, you name it, and I loved every aspect of it. It was extremely different from what a traditional kit pvp server would look like and for that reason alone it made it stand out to me. Over the past 4 years, I have constructed incredible friendships that still have lasted to this day and created memories I will never forget. I even decided to give back to the community by becoming a staff member for the server. At that point in time, Invaded felt like a digital home to me. A place where I can log on and forget everything that was happening around me and enjoy conversing with friends instead. However, over the past few months, that home has been taken apart piece by piece and I'm not the only one who feels this way. Players I have seen log on for years on end have stopped showing up due to the lack of content and general care for the server. It's truly sad to see such a unique project tumble down because of poor decisions. However, there's always a solution to a problem, a light at the end of the tunnel. Even though the server is slowly dying, the community has stayed just as strong and passionate since day one. Therefore, it is important to listen to what the community says and consider the following. Recreating the management team and implementing media/advertisement for Invaded. Recreating the management team speaks for itself, the players have spoken up about the current members and instead of ignoring them, they should be heard. Replacing the current manager(s) with people who know what they are doing and care deeply for the server and its future will not only save invaded, but it will be like a breath of fresh air. The community has faced a lot of trivial times and deserves a break from all the chaos that has been happening
A strong candidate I believe should be one of the new managers is Krypto. He has proven his knowledge is extensive and he genuinely wants what is best for the server. I will not go into much detail about him because I firmly believe the community will agree with me. Media and advertisements are self-explanatory. With excessive advertisement and media coverage of invaded, the player count WILL soar. This has been proven when skeppy himself logged onto the server and made a video around 2019 and the player count significantly increased by hundreds just to see him online. All we ask is for a singular video, just one advertising the server, it's such a small proposition that takes barely any effort, but it would help this server drastically and have a huge positive impact on the community. Overall, it is depressing to see one of mine and many others' favorite servers fall further and further down this downward spiral. With the suggestions stated above, this downward spiral will be transformed into a staircase into prosperity.

Zauns:

I've been playing this server for around 3-5 years and basically I've seen this server do great, and it's weak sides, and I can confidently say I've never seen it doing this bad. Mega leaving leading to affixes becoming a new leader ruined it, him being removed leading to LUKELOVESCANDY AND LUMBOC as managers. Lumboc he's a yes man, I haven't heard much from him but everything Luke says, he agrees. 100% not suitable as a staff member as they should ALWAYS have their own voice. Zackyyy and Kvids not wanting to come back means there's only one option, get a NEW manager (Risky due to affixes) or recruit Krypto, I think this isn't a bad idea due to how long he's played, meaning he knows the community I'd say as well as me, he knows what people want, what people don't want and overall he has good knowledge, he loves this server as do I, and we want the best for it. Skeppy please make something work, otherwise ur server, the one you've had since 0 subscribers will lose all of its players, It's on its last hopes.

Voltwave:

I can tell Luke and Lumboc care about the server now and want the best for its players, but the fact that they showed minimal dedication and effort to the server previously is quite alarming and raises a lot of concerns. The server has been in a downwards spiral recently and the server is dying off because of it. This server has a great concept, and it could very well succeed more than it ever has before with the right management. I'm not just saying this because I'm Krypto's friend, but I truly think he should have an opportunity to prove himself as a manager. Think about it, he knows what the community wants, he listens to the community, is very well-liked, has experience staffing, and actually has an idea of what needs to happen. I think this could be the next step in improving the server so that it can get back on its feet.

Metcl:

Introducing krypto as a manager to the team will be the best thing for the future of this server. Krypto has been a part of the community for 5 years now and knows what they want from this server. He truly cares about the server and puts a lot of effort into doing so. In terms of Luke and Lumboc I honestly haven't seen any interaction from them at all when they were admin or lower, and I have been playing for over 3 years now. I think it really puts it into the perspective of how they lack dedication. The overall state of the server is not the best atm. For the past couple of months, the kitpvp community has been complaining about the lack of updates and staff not listening to suggestions. With the loss of Kvids and Zacky, reintroducing krypto as a manager to the team will be the best thing for the future of this server. Krypto has been playing invaded for 5 years and knows the community the best. He truly cares about the server and puts a lot of effort into doing so. As said in his post, he's done 300+ blacklist appeals in the 5 months he's been on staff while the current Manager Lumboc has done 30 in 2 years.

You may share your experience in the comments below, any opinion is valued and will be looked into

Conclusion

To summarize, there are a lot of problems on Invaded that need to be addressed and solved. Hopefully, this document presents clarity on the situation and provides a clear way to fix the server. With the right steps and actions, Invaded’s impending doom can be reversed, and listening to the community can further speed up that process. It will enable the server to pick up from the ground and start walking again, instead of tripping over unnecessary stones. Instead of pushing the community aside, embrace their suggestions, and by doing so, help Invaded improve once and for all.

Decay:

When it comes to something like this I have always been completely open and honest with my thoughts and opinions about a specific situation. Not only do I want the best for the community, but I also want to see the community as a fun and enjoyable place to be, where players can log in and not have their enjoyment impaired by management making poor and careless decisions as they are completely "switched off" and unaware of the player base's opinions, wants and needs. Unfortunately, this is what InvadedLands has been experiencing for the past year, and now I believe this is the last chance it has at recovering, and with the current managers, the bright future we are all hoping for is not guaranteed. Since day 1 of knowing about Krypto's strive to become a manager, I have thought extremely highly of everything I have heard and spoken to him about as not only do I think he is what Invaded desperately needs but on a personal level I can 100% promise he has his heart dedicated towards the community and he knows exactly what to do as well as the priorities Invaded needs. Krypto is an amazing listener, and I know he will be listening to every single suggestion that is brought up to him, as well as capitalizing off of them and making the improvements that need to be made. Not only do I think Krypto is an amazing listener, but he also is incredibly good at working under pressure and making tough decisions that need to be made, I don't think I need to explain what this means, but if there is a big decision that needs to be made Krypto will not sit there for weeks waiting for it to be magically done like current management, he will hop on it within days and tackle the problem, maximizing player satisfaction, therefore, making Invaded a better place for everyone. Having previously staffed with Krypto I know that he is not afraid to get his point across to other members of the team. This is something I always have felt strongly about, the staff team should be a place where work is done and where an opinion is brought up everyone should be mature and strong enough to argue a said point which leads to the communities suggestions actually getting somewhere, yet again all we have seen is current management saying yes to everything, and then us all wondering why Invaded isn't improving. Krypto, out of everyone I know, is the fittest person for this role, and this is something that should be strongly considered if we all want Invaded to have a bright future ahead of itself.

Great thread! I know Voltwave is incapable of writing such literature, as it is well too sophisticated for him! Keep up the great work!

InvadedLands Reformation

**This thread outlines the specifics of a detailed plan to allow Invadedlands to grow and prosper once again. I strongly encourage you to read through this entire post.**

Honestly this is the best thread about this whole situation!! Big up krypto !
