a) we payed for UNLIMITED FLY
To quote the original description of the item that was paid for:
Store description:
Buy this and you will have permanent access to the /Fly Command!
Nowhere in that description is it ever stated that you have access to permanent flight, and, as is the case with all purchased items on our store or in a digital landscape regardless, they are
subject to change, meaning as the gameplay situation evolves, so does the perks and capabilities you once had.
b) haven't most of the maps chunks been loaded by now
As stated to you yesterday, we always pre-generate the maps, that's not the issue.
c) if you are paying upwards of 100 dollars or more for a rank on a MINECRAFT SERVER, you should be getting the full experience, (or the experience that once was.) Most people have spoken on their opinions. Most people are also confused as to your mindset on this. Why did we expand the world if it leads to problems like these? 25k x 25k was more than fine, i'm sure people would've even been okay with 20k if it meant we got what we paid for. don't give these privileges to ranks. if its not listed as a perk, don't give it? you said you've been playing for years on invaded. the ENTIRE community has spoken on this and yesterday the way you were responding to some ppl was kinda messed up. you are the face of this entire thing, you should be offering up better alternatives than "Unlimited fly at spawn." Is that the best you can offer up? also what data? is it classified? i appreciate how open you've been, thats been the cause of this servers downfall. however, before i end this off notice the player count jump over the last 2 days. the players play what you offer, if the players don't like it, they will quit. what happens when all the players quit? skyblock failed because you guys made changes the community didn't like. the player count went to 0. if you keep treating players ideas like garbage people are going to quit.
Let me go over a few things here for the last time.
Flight costs $9.24 currently at it's cheapest. Rank-wise, it was added to the Legend rank during one of the seasons, but was never advertised on the store until today, nowhere are we making you pay $100 for a flight perk, nor did we modify any of the other perks found in other ranks.
We did not take away the flight perk (which, might I add, other online services have done with other, similar perks before), we merely modified it to allow for all players to have a better, lag-free gameplay experience. You seem to be under the assumption that as you paid for more, you deserve more, and while you are correct, that merely means that you are entitled to the heightened perks of which you paid for, of which you, with your immortal rank receive. Everybody
across the board with the flight perk received an
(at maximum) five minutes of flight time. This does not affect you whilst in claims, which allows you to build to your heart's content, it merely affects your capability to mass load chunks for an extended period of time, which was the entire reason that we altered the perk in the first place due to the heightened requirements made by 1.19.
To be clear with you, the server wasn't performing well on previous seasons either and had been benchmarked as such. To date, Survival is our most demanding mode by far (hence the lessened maximum player count), the issue has nothing to do with the world size, nor has it anything to do with us wanting to take away what you paid for (contrary to popular belief).
No data has been withheld from anyone, and I have tried to be as open as possible. In fact, I recommend that you do research on the internals of Minecraft's game engine, as it is the root cause on why we had to make this alteration. Tl;dr: Minecraft cannot keep up with a bunch of players mass flying around loading chunks, entities and the such for a prolonged period of time. It literally cannot tick and garbage collect things quick enough to stop the lag that would occur in such a scenario.
Minecraft doesn't keep pre-generated chunks loaded in it's memory, nor does it waste precious CPU time in ticking them. It saves them to the disk, and loads them again as necessary. What we're trying to prevent here is people mass loading chunks. We've done a lot of work to ensure that the server can keep up with our player base. We have pre-generated the map, we did finely tweak the spawning rates, and yes, we did add temporary flight.
also skyblock isn't dead, and the server's player count has been increasing over the past week, not decreasing, lol.
