i understand that testing needs to to through, but compared to other servers invaded feels like it's the slowest

To be honest with you here, I completely understand your frustration with the topic and I'd love to support the newer versions the second they drop. Work is being done to ensure that that can be done in the future, but as it stands currently, there are things limiting our capability to support the newest versions that are more or less completely out of our control.

Do be assured however, we are working as hard as we can to ensure that this won't impact us moving forward, it's just going to take a bit of time until the fruits of our labor can see their fruition.

if it were that simple, don't you think I would've already done it?
that's exactly why i thought it didn't support 1.20. i felt ignorant just saying "JUST UPDATE VIA!!111!!"

nonetheless, the reason is still vague.

How is what Fabelz saying vague? Certain issues are limiting what we can do with the server. Issues that hopefully in the future can be overcome.

i honestly don't have much experience or familarity with running servers on newer versions so i'll speak solely in terms of kitpvp here:
if the server's base version is 1.8/1.7 and all of the features of it are 1.8/1.7 compatible (no particles, spigot api methods, or anything that was added in a newer version) then simply updating viaversion should fix it. however, if (for some reason) the base version isn't 1.8/1.7 then you're right it wouldn't be that simple
