Pretty much entirely convinced it's done for, unfortunately. People always throw out the same ideas when they think of ways to revive Invaded.
Sooner or later, we as well as the management of this server have to accept that it's never coming back - watching Invaded decay like this for several years has been nothing short of depressing. The better thing to do would be to kill it now, whilst there's still something to kill. Otherwise, as far as I'm convinced it's just delaying the inevitable.
- 'Skeppy needs to advertise the server' -- he's tried this, several times in the last few years. OK, not consistently and not on his main channel, but he has done this and the result is always the same: an initial burst of activity which then dies out within days.
- Skeppy made the move to 'event based' engagement with his viewers. You'll all be familiar with this, kids joining Invaded and begging to know if an event is taking place and/or people AFKing in the event server all the time. This was initially an incredible strategy for him, not just in terms of engagement, but profit generation. Anyone remember PVPLands? It was a second server Skeppy started (to deal with the bloating of Invaded with kids joining servers and AFKing for events). The initial hype around that was unbelievable, people spent a huge amount of money on 'event passes' (which generated a lot of controversy in itself) and Skeppy realised there was a big engagement (and money-making) opportunity there. He dramatically shifted towards this style of viewer engagement, offering cash money prizes to those taking part.
- Unfortunately, this move was the first proper death knell for Invaded. The second he shifted the attention away from 'his' server to something else, things started to go to shit here. Player count decreased dramatically and the only people that played were the 'core' community of people that didn't engage with Skeppy's content, but stayed for the community. This worked in Invaded's favour for a while, but these people grew up and moved on.
- The drama associated with this server and its community has left the server with an irreparably damaged reputation - whether it be drama involving staff, management, shady business practices or Skeppy himself - the image of Invaded as a server will never recover from this and it is permanently damaged.
- 'Unblacklist/unban/unmute all': This has also been done before, in various forms - and to be clear, the people that suggest this are right to a certain degree. It does initially create a lot of hype and activity, but it's never sustained.
- 'Other creators need to advertise the server': Respectfully, why? This server is not special, it's special to us because of the community and our memories associated with it, but let's be clear. It has no unique selling point, the gameplay style is the same as you'd find on just about any other servers that have the same game modes and in order to have any hope in succeeding here, you have to be willing to spend real money (or someone else's money - for all of the financial fraud that goes on here), which just about eliminates the majority of new people that would want to play.
