(Hopefully) Conclusion to Corrupt Staff Accusations

Before I begin, I would just like to note-I'm sure many players have legitimate reasons to be annoyed with how the Invaded community (or staff) has treated them. However, that does not justify claiming that the entire system, or that specific players, are corrupt.
Recently, I have noticed lots of posts on Invaded Forums claiming that 'Staff Are Corrupt'. This is a very serious accusation, more serious than most of the people posting it probably realize. I am making this post to
A: Explain what 'Staff Being Corrupt' would actually mean and
B: With that definition, explain how ridiculous these posts are
Corruption is the act of one or more individuals repeatedly accepting money in order to give unfair treatment to others (basically, repeated/unfixable bribery throughout the system). Every single post claiming that staff are corrupt (that I have seen) has only been complaining about false bans/blacklists. Don't get me wrong-false bans are frustrating and should definitely not happen. However, calling it corruption is a baseless and, frankly, ridiculous accusation. There would be no monetary gain for a staff to blacklist a random player. I don't claim to know any of the staff personally, or know if they would, if offered, accept bribes-however, based on the posts that I have seen, there is not even a logical inkling of possible 'corruption'. If you want to complain about the system, be specific-don't use blatantly false hyperboles to make your case seem more important.

i've done ban appeals for discord servers and have done for a while, i kid you not every time someone has said a staff member was corrupt in an appeal their ban was valid and the mod was just doing what they were supposed to meanwhile most of the time people who were actually false banned were chill about it and understood, play stupid games, win stupid prizes
i was once accidentally false-banned by another discord server but i wouldn't call them corrupt
these accusations also have no evidence so there's no point believing it lol

Recently, I have noticed lots of posts on Invaded Forums claiming that 'Staff Are Corrupt'. This is a very serious accusation, more serious than most of the people posting it probably realize. " I have personally been false-banned by staff. This is how it went: I was just logging onto the server like regular, when I found myself in jail for no reason. There was no timer (even though staff said there was supposed to be a timer in jail) and I had to submit a ban appeal to even find out what it was. My ban appeal was denied (of course) and staff said I was banned because of "inappropriate cosmetics". Later, I submitted another ban appeal because my entire skin history was completely regular, I owned zero lunar cosmetics, and I had a normal cape. They denied it again, saying I was banned for inappropriately naming an item (yes, I know, I am ashamed of myself because I actually did inappropriately rename an item). But first of all, nowhere in the rules says that you cannot inappropriately rename an item, and also how does that apply to inappropriate cosmetics? Let me just give you the gaming definition of a cosmetic really quick: "virtual items that alter the appearance of a player's character, weapon, or other in-game elements without affecting gameplay or granting competitive advantage". Me renaming a mangrove propagule to "mddey's dih" shouldn't get me banned, and after all, I gave this item to 7gtz, who said nothing about it at first, and also tons of players rename items inappropriately and nothing happens to them.
"A: Explain what 'Staff Being Corrupt' would actually mean and B: With that definition, explain how ridiculous these posts are" Horrible fallacy, Retrocreeps has spent IRL money on this game and he is apparently blacklisted for a false reason even after he has submitted ban appeals. Many other people have this same problem.

MegaPvP comes out of vanish every once in a blue moon, I never saw Redot online before he quit as a staff member, I've never seen that Zelkam guy ever play in my life, Rik has barely been online this past month, and Luke just sits around. Though I do have hope that the newer generation of staff members (Fallen, superyacht, mqgy, and Supercat) can provide the server with the light it deserves because they actually know what us players enjoy.

I'm sorry for writing such a long paragraph for all you ignorant people out there who can't read a single page out of an english literature book, but I did write this in a total of five minutes because I was bored and I had nothing else to do accept debunk someone who tries to meatride staff. You're welcome.

Just to confirm, is what you're saying it purple or white?

also you used accept instead of except

This should be better now with the new trainees.

I wouldn’t say staff are ‘corrupted’, as little as that fits the definition of what they are. But, I’ve seen this in some staff (especially mqgy). It’s that staff who have played for a while and made friends, soften up to them as moderator. For example, i’ve seen mqgy in Infernal’s streams more than i’ve seen them unvanished. Onceinalifetime LITERALLY got banned (printer mode) because mqgy was chilling there, in vanish, of course. Mddey has gone about this the right way though, as i see them talk to their friends, but still be free to answer player’s questions. What i mean by all this is that some mods will carelessly look at the evidence of a person who they don’t know, ban them and move on. Meanwhile, if anybody they did know got punished, they would find any exception that would ensure them not getting the justice they deserve.

I just hope the new generation of mods aren’t like this, and i’m especially rooting for fallenphoenix, since i believe he won’t have favourites, and he would be more available to answer player concerns and appeals.
I also want to clarify i don’t believe this happened in my case, but i’ve seen people appeal their bans for weeks on end, just to get them denied with an automated response.

Thank you for responding! I would like to say that while your story seems absolutely infuriating (I have made numerous suggestions to various staff to update/clarify Network Rules to no avail), it has nothing to do with corruption. I am not giving my personal views on staff here-they could all be terrible staff, but opinionated posts about false bans/blacklists are not what I have an issue with. My problem is when players start throwing out terms (like corruption) to make their stories seem more frustrating. From what you have said, it seems that staff did a terrible job addressing both yours and Retrocreep's cases. However, this does not make them 'corrupt', particularly with Retro's case, which you pointed out as a specific case of corruption. Just because Retro lost money in the end does not mean the staff had monetary gains/incentives to ban him. Maybe it would be morally correct for staff to refund his money, but in the end, that is not corruption. Staff members would have had to be bribed/have a monetary incentive to ban him for 'Corruption' to be an issue.
To reiterate, I am not claiming that staff are or are not lazy or incompetent-I am just saying that they are not corrupt, based on current evidence. Hopefully with new Trainees and (possibly) an update/complete overhaul of Network Rules, these problems will be fixed.

You have no idea how many people got false banned, I have a whole f*cking group chat filled with them, and they were all banned/blacklisted by rik and mqgy. I don't know if smoke is a bad staff like mqgy and rik, because I've been friends smoke for 10 months now and he's always seemed like a good guy.

Mighty you should stop taking the side of the bad staff, or our problems can and will get worse.
I will reiterate a second time; I am not taking the side of staff. Your problems seem, if you aren't leaving anything out, like a oversight on staff's end. I do not care (although you may get muted) if you claim that they are lazy, incompetent, etc. These are difficult to definitively prove wrong or right, so I personally don't mind these. People getting false banned is not alright, but once again, not corruption. Just because something isn't corrupt doesn't mean it's alright; Corruption is a very specific offense, one that has not been mentioned throughout any of your examples. Staff could be doing a terrible job, but that is not the point of my simple argument-the point is just that they are not corrupt.

For example, i’ve seen mqgy in Infernal’s streams more than i’ve seen them unvanished. Onceinalifetime LITERALLY got banned (printer mode) because mqgy was chilling there, in vanish, of course.

mqgy saw someone cheating on my live stream, and you are saying it's a bad thing that the person cheating got banned?.. While mqgy and other staff are close friends of mine, it does not mean I get special treatment either.

I don't know where all of this hatred is coming from recently with a few select players towards the staff team, but they are not corrupted whatsoever. I KNOW for a fact some of you deserved the punishments you got, they are not false. If you believe you were falsely banned, you can easily submit a Ban Appeal or Blacklist Appeal. While on some occasions or days that response time may be slow, that just has to do with the fact that the server is still under-staffed, and response times can vary. Remember, the staff team are human, they have lives outside a minecraft server, and mistakes can happen. Please treat them like humans and be kind. If you feel that a staff member has abused their position of power, instead of crying about it on the forums, private message a higher up (depending on the role, Sr Mod <-> Manager) and report the staff member there.
