If the Ban reason was just 'Cheating' then you were most likely banned by the anticheat, and not staff. The Anticheat is very rarely false and your ban was most likely justified, admitting to the Cheats in your appeal will not only get you unbanned quicker but is garuanteed to be accepted if your really sorry. The actual reason for your ban isnt necessary.
