There is no official explanation on this and staff have made conflicting decisions many times throughout seasons on this topic.
The purpose of Dripstone is to hurt entities like Cactus and Lava and if the /pvp plugin doesn't consider damage caused by Dripstone as "combat" like it considers End Crystal explosions, then WHY should the server?
The Rules define Glitch Abuse as: No glitch abusing/exploiting (e.g. duplicating items, escaping the map, eating whilst running, escaping combat tag, intentionally getting yourself banned, etc - no matter your intention).
The in-game /report mechanic defines Glitch Abuse as: Any form of unintended glitching.
Now notice, any form of unintended "GLITCHING". We are NOT engaging in combat tag by using DRIPSTONES. This means we are not bypassing the /pvp mechanic but are merely using the environment to our advantage. IF this weren't allowed then Cactus and Lava shouldn't be allowed aswell, as they could be used for the same purpose as Dripstones.
We can all agree that Dripstones are used as quick execution tools and are widely used by TP-Trappers. Nobody likes TP-Trappers but their methods can and will vary throughout updates Mojang brings to the game. Just because TP-Trappers found it as a useful tool in their traps doesn't mean we should hate it. Instead we should make it available and safe to use for the playerbase. Because it is now a core mechanic of Minecraft and taking it away because people die to it now and then wouldn't be the best decision.
Therefore I call the staff team to come to a census on our beloved block Dripstone and to please make a reasonable decision.
Thank you.
