How are you able to get music discs (not off auction)

Yeah so im confused someone explain how im able to get music discs. I'm aware there is an exploit of duplicating discs and I would appriciate it if someone explained how to get music discs without the exploit, and with the exploit. I have 2 music discs, chirp and stal, both got from other people, and when I asked how they got the discs they replied with: "Someone else gave them to me".
Can someone please explain how to get the discs with and without the exploit? Thanks.
