The only problem is I don't know how to. And by the way, I'm trying to do this with steak and leather.
Just search a tutorial on YouTube, you need Redstone, a lot of Redstone, hoppers and chests.

Any youtube video should work. Just search up "auto sorting system Minecraft" on youtube. There will be a lot.
