So around 10 days ago I got permanently banned for Advertisement on invadedlands. (Please don't be a mini mod and be like "appeal at https://invadedlands.net/form/ban-appeal.5/select" because I already appealed and got a 30 day reduce, also this thread isn't to complain I just wan't to hear your opinions on this.) Alright so I was searching for MC servers and after a bit I went to Invaded Lands. I forgot I had the Minecraft servers IP in my Ctrl v so I pasted the IP in chat while doing /sell all, So I ended up getting permanently banned for advertisement around 30 minutes later of posting the IP in chat. My main argument here really is the fact the the servers IP that I posted doesn't work because it shut down a few months ago also I wasn't being like >>Join this server for free op<< I literally posted the IP once apologized and got banned 30 minutes later. I find it kind of unfair because the thing that I "Advertised" doesn't exist and hasn't existed for months.
Again this isn't a complain thread I just want to hear what you guys think.

Eh, I think it could've been situational, and the fact that you apologized after posting it, it showed it was an accident and imo you shouldn't have been banned. Like god damn we can't get away with nothin nowadays

Its still advertising accidentally or not
 
The rules on the server state you can’t advertise, despite the mistake they need to believe your not lying, I know the IP wasn’t working but that doesn’t change the severity of the rule you broke.

when I said "shouldn't have been banned" I meant like it's stupid that such minimum things aren't tolerated. Of course he should've been banned because he technically advertised but like advertising is such a small thing that results in a perm ban. I feel like it should be shorter but whatever. I got perm banned from Hypixel 5 years ago which resulted in no extra players on my friends server and appealed last year and it got denied like hello.

The fact that the players leave the server because they are more interested in another server tells us enough.
 
rule was still broken, they unban you they gotta unban every other advertiser accident or not

Tells us what? I mean tbh if someone joins a server's IP someone posted in chat and gets an error message then proceeds to just stay there and not join Invaded Lands back they probably were gonna quit soon because they found an error message more interesting.

I personally feel this was a bit unfair for an accidental advertisement. I'm not apart of the staff team so it isn't my place to say of course, but I feel they should have just given you a warning since you did apologize right after. I do not know of any previous offenses (if any) but I am sorry to hear you were banned on an accident.

Sorry, lol, gg to me quoting myself, I'd like to add on and would rather not edit. I found this in the rules, check yourself if you don't believe me,

"No intentionally advertising any other minecraft server in any way on any platform. " The keyword, 'intentional'. This being said, since your advertisement was accidental (by quickly apologizing, you showed it wasn't on purpose imo), I feel this was an unjust temp ban.

Lmao I was looking through the rules a few hours ago and saw that, so I was going to point that out. But yeah even if the IP worked it was unintentional so I shouldn't have been banned. Tbh i'm just gonna wait the 16 days left of my ban. But tysm for the support everyone
