You've just got to keep practising.
There are plenty of PvP practice servers you can play on to get better or alternatively you could go on a server like Munchy where the kits are more fair.
If you really aren't enjoying kit, I suggest trying out survival or skyblock.

well all depends.
If you want to just get the hang of it and start learning ask someone you know is decent and knows the basic or pvping. after you get all that down go by urself and just practice having someone criticize you is never going to help you.

I wasn’t the best at pvp either until I started doing hypixel duels and challenged people on kit for 1v1s it is much easier to start of simple

Try w-tap and in general just practise and get your method because everyone has different methods, so just try to find your method and practise on doing that try to pvp on other servers aswell i'd suggest hypixel duels
start tryharding and get a cape to assert dominance so people panic when you attack them.
