YouTube Rewind
It was alright in my opinion. Honestly, there's too much on youtube to cover in a 5 - 7 minute video and not everything you hope for actually makes it into the rewind. I think that's why people dislike it so much. There are people who are mad about it being 'too low budget' this year, though that was something to expect after last year. Youtube went for statistics this year instead, which I personally like, however sadly the rewind looked a lot like a top 10 video.
It's getting worse every year.
Youtube doest know what is ACTUALLY trending through youtube.
For example, T-series vs PewDiePie.
That was one of the biggest trends on Youtube.
The saddest part was K-pop. They ruined it. They also ruined Fortnite.
It was SAD in general ;;

Atleast they put time and energy into making the 2018 one... the 2019 one is just sad
What are they supposed to do? If they do classical rewind they would get backlash from the community. If they do top 10 they get criticized for low effort. If they do something that community wants they would get backlash from media because Pewdiepie and other big youtubers work for a man with silly mustache that commited numerous crimes throughout history. I think top 10 is the best thing we could get for now.
And how are you so sure about this? Mind watching the previous youtube rewinds? They did the classical style without getting hate, only if they try they would get better. Just leaving doing something just because something got hated is not right lol

Didn't a6d talk about this already? Making classical rewind is impossible because YouTube is too big to fit everything in 5-7 minutes. They didn't get hate because YouTube could actually fit all the important things but now it's just impossible. They "can't" learn because it would take way too much time and effort.
Media does articles on all the big youtubers that they're nazi. Specifically Pewdiepie. If youtube would invite all the "nazi" youtubers they would get a lot of negative articles about them.

Media as in buzzfeed and those clickbait websites you mean? Anyways, media does articles on a alot of things, doesnt mean that thing has to be excluded from everything. Media finds reasons to hate, so let them.. apart from that i dont see any known news reporting websites posting on youtubers being "nazi"

YouTube would risk their media reputation. Less reputation = less money. I don't think you would want your ads in a service that got called out for supporting nazis. Anyways i think we came to a final conclusion that YouTube just doesn't know what they're doing. At least they listened to last year's criticizm but the way they did wasn't the best.
