Tags are like optifine capes, they don’t have to look good, but they’re a symbol of you supporting the server or website. I think the tag names are fun, and suggesting things is what the forums are for, go ahead and give us your ideas and make them count. You aren’t entirely powerless here, staff are working harder to implement people’s suggestions. Making threads like this just whining and complaining does nothing, and if you really care, then try and actually make these ideas happen.

This server is owned by Skeppy. Early on, his videos were the main marketing channel to bring new players in, and this more revenue.
Strictly speaking from a business standpoint (since that what all Minecraft servers are), it would make more sense to have tags that Skeppy’s audience could relate to, rather than having tags that they would not. An average viewer of his channel that saw Invaded and decided to come play would more likely buy a tag with a meme they would be able to connect with because they have engaged with it in a video, rather than something they have never heard before.
So while I understand your point here, at the end of the day the tags in the store are there for a reason, and it makes sense. There have been community tags added and such, so the server is not closed minded to suggestions/changes. However, a large scale change like you have suggested is unlikely to happen.

P.S. There have been new unlock able tags added in the KitPVP reset that don’t even require IRL coin to get. I would recommend checking those out.
