Allow people to change their names once

What should they do?

Hey, the forums are good and all, but I feel that people should be allowed to change their forum name at least once, or a staff member should be allowed to change other people's names and decide to approve it or not. Like for example, my name is atPuddle on Minecraft but the forums don't match my name, and I don't see why we need to limit people from changing their names completely. I had SkittlesTM for a year and been called SkittlesTM on the forums since 2018(from the old forums). Also, don't waste your time saying "who asked" or start trolling because it's kind of boring.

What do you guys think, should they let us have one free name change and you can't change it anymore, message a staff member to handle the name change for you or leave it the same?

3 name changes, but the problem is i see them charging you for a 4th one like skyblock island resets but you get less changes
 
i think staff should be able to change it for you, since if anyone could change their name, it could lead to inappropriate names (and then changing it to avoid punishment), or if a popular user accidently changed their name then someone else could take it and pretend to be them

True, but letting people get one more name change would be great, and they can't change it anymore. They only gain one free name change.

Okay, I thought about it and it's a big no.

If they let us change our name we can change it to bad words and shitty stuff.
 
Okay so,

XenForo doesn't let you change your name in any way if you are a user.
If you are an ADMIN of the forum you can edit users through the panel.
I found an addon called [XenConcept] Username Change but you can't choose what words are dodo so my theory was right.
 
About bad words, @BlankSpaceHere had a name considered "bad" already so making it possible to change the name once (like the game Clash Royale, as far as I remember) or twice wouldn't be a bad idea. +1 to this suggestion
 
I am pretty sure they can, but they still have moderators who can remove that name or punish the player if the name is bad.
