Appeals Guidelines & Information
This is a thread containing information and guidelines about appealing different types of punishments on our network.
You may find a list of our Network Rules here: https://invadedlands.net/threads/network-rules.48/
Before Submitting An Appeal
There are several things you need to keep in mind when appealing a punishment on our network. Please be aware of the following:
- You may not appeal temporary punishments unless you believe them to be false or if you were banned for cheating.
- If a punishment took place while your account was shared or compromised, you will still be considered guilty. You are responsible for any actions that take place on your account.
- Appeals must be submitted by the account owner. If for some reason the account owner is unable to submit an appeal themself, they should reach out to a staff member for assistance.
- Follow any instructions given to you in previous appeals (eg. if you were told to wait until a specific date, don't submit a new appeal until that date). Not following instructions given may hurt your chances of having your punishment reduced.
- If a decision on your appeal has been made, do not create further appeals regarding that same punishment. Decisions on appeals are final and cannot be argued.
- Do not create public threads complaining about your punishment or about a staff member’s decision on your appeal. They will be deleted and you may be issued a forums warning.
- Do not attack, threaten, or harass a staff member who you believe punished you or who denied your appeal. Doing so may result in forums warnings, and any future appeals may be immediately denied.
- Please do not ‘bump’ appeals in an effort to receive a faster response; doing this pushes your appeal to the end of the queue, and will result in it taking even longer for your appeal to be reviewed.
- Please do not message staff asking us to review your appeal. Doing so may result in your appeal being immediately denied.
Appealing Mutes
For anyone who decides to appeal their mute, these are a list of things that you should keep in mind when appealing. You may appeal your mute here.
- If you wish to appeal a mute, it should be appealed in the Ban Appeals section.
- If you have already received a reduced mute in the past, you are not eligible to receive another mute reduction.
- If you are appealing a permanent mute, you must wait until at least 1 month from the mute date to submit an appeal. Depending on the severity of your offenses, you may be instructed to wait until it has been 2 or 3 months.
Appealing Bans
For anyone who decides to appeal their ban, these are a list of things that you should keep in mind when appealing. You may appeal your ban here.
- If you wish to appeal a Discord ban, it should be appealed in the Ban Appeals section. Make sure to include both your discord username and your discord ID.
- If you have already received a ban reduction in the past, you are not eligible to receive another ban reduction for that offense.
- If you have been instructed to earn your unban via the jail, you are not eligible to receive a ban reduction for that offense.
Appealing Blacklists
For anyone who decides to appeal their blacklist, these are a list of things that you should keep in mind when appealing. You may appeal your blacklist here.
- We do not unlink accounts if neither account is blacklisted, so please do not submit appeals or message staff members asking for an unlink.
- If your blacklist was related to Illegal Affairs (DDoS Threats/Actions, Dox Threats/Actions, Leaking IPs/Information etc), in general you are not eligible to receive a blacklist reduction.
- If your blacklist contains a [DI] or is related to a chargeback, then it can only be handled by a Manager. Senior Moderators and Admins cannot make a decision on these punishments, so it may take longer for these types of appeals to be handled.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do I have to wait for my appeal to be reviewed?
The short answer is: It depends. Your punishment type and severity, as well as the amount of other appeals currently pending, will affect how long it takes for a decision to be made. Blacklist Appeals tend to take longer to be handled, especially those that are labeled "Chargeback", "DI", or "Escalated". We do try our best to handle appeals as quickly as we can.
What does "Escalated" mean in appeal?
This means that your appeal must be handled by an Admin or Manager, and it has been forwarded to a higher member of staff for review.
I was not cheating, why was my appeal denied?
Appeals for cheating are denied when the administration team has thoroughly checked your logs and determined that you were cheating. If you truly believe that you were not cheating, I recommend you read over this thread: https://invadedlands.net/threads/tips-to-avoid-being-false-banned.68000/
Any additional questions?
If you have any questions regarding the appeal process, you may message a staff member via Discord or through a forums conversation.
