Ban Appeal Confusion

I am slightly confused about an issue relating to my ban appeal.
I was banned and could not wait for appeal to be processed so i bought a ban appeal.
and then my original ban appeal was denied for the reason "already unbanned" - im wondering if my ban appeal would have been accepted if i had not bought a ban appeal and if refunds are available if so
