I know for a fact this is not just me, since I have asked and heard from multiple people that they've noticed the same changes in damage, bow-boosting and knockback.
I'm not entirely sure if the Staff actually changed the damage or anything at all, but this new map just feels, weird. It feels like nobody is taking any damage from what would on the previous map deal tons. Half of crits only deal normal damage and rod-hits (hit someone with a sword right after you rod them for double damage) barely happens anymore unless you have really good ping, and personally, I don't.
Then there's the bow boosting and knockback. I don't know why these two were changed considering it was already perfect (that's just my opinion tho) but again it feels weird. I don't think I've ever seen a person complain about the knockback on Invaded since that's what its best known for, having very good pvp settings.
Overall I just think this map feels different, and I know it's not just me. Lmk if anyone agrees
