it's defintely not a scam. A scam would be when they say you get a discount but you don't. This is just clever marketing techniques.
A scam by principal according to Oxford Languages is “ a dishonest scheme; a fraud.” This marketing strategy falls under this category because it’s being dishonest by saying there’s a discount while really there isn’t, and by principal, it’s a scam, but most people don’t use rationalization via principal and thus don’t understand this. Thank you for your statement. It really helped me to put this into retrospect and furthermore prevent any more confusion. This is saying you get a 20% off discount while in reality the original price is the discounted price. Please read these article which I highly recommend if you wish to furthermore research into this: https://www.hbs.edu/faculty/Pages/item.aspx?num=50777 https://www.checkbook.org/washington-area/sale-fail/?press=washingtonpost

Read my response to @Lauren, and I’m not quite sure what you mean by “ best deal possible, even though it's really just the same price and it's just grabbing your attention” if you’re getting the best deal possible and pay the same amount, it’s just a free upgrade? This just sounds bombastic, please clarify what you mean so I can answer your question and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Think of it like the movie theater scam, where they say "Want to upgrade to a large for only $1?"

That relates here because it looks like you're getting the best deal possible, even though it's really just the same price and it's just grabbing your attention. I don't believe it's a scam, just a marketing strategy that works.

The current “discount” on invadeds website isn’t even a discount, it’s just a marketing strategy which uses human psychology to trick you into thinking you’re getting a “limited” deal that’ll end soon if you don’t buy it, pressuring you to buy it before the “limited” deal runs out. Please tell me if you agree or disagree with me via the poll attached to this thread,
i dont rlly think its a scam more like a marketing technique, a lot of stores do it and it works.

By definition/principal, it’s classified as a scam. Please read my message targeting @Lauren if you wish to know why.
its not like they rnt giving a discount, like lauren said they r still giving you the discount. They r being completely honest by saying its a "20% off discount" nothing dishonest with that. If they said "limited time offer" like a lot of other servers do, i would completely agree with you, but they dont.

If you read the articles i attached in the conversation with @Lauren they change the original price to a “discounted” price permanently to attract more people since they’re thinking they’re getting a “rare” and/or “limited” deal. But that’s why I made this a poll, because people have different options and I wanted to see in the communities perspective if they would classify it as a scam or not. But thanks for sharing how you think it’s not a scam, this really puts both sides out there and the community has more information on what to vote for, thanks for bringing the opposite side to the light, that’s why I am answering these questions in the first place, to give peope more information on what to vote for.

I’m going to sleep since it’s 5am and I can barely think straight. But don’t be afraid to ask any more questions and I’ll reply as soon as I get the chance, but that’s why they don’t say stuff like “limited” because they’re permanently changing the price to a “discounted” price to, most likely, increase sales.

It's not really a scam, but it's almost like AMD advertising the chip based on Piledriver and Bulldozer architecture as 8 core chips.

It's free after you buy it ?

not to be a bitch but pls don't @ me every time you're referring to my comment, you can just say my name instead of the @ bkdbkbkabkskb and unnecessarily ping me

okay so imo this isnt a scam. it says there is a 20% off sale, and there is. there’s nothing dishonest about that. nowhere does it say that the sale is temporary or will expire. most people assume sales are temporary, which is why they take incentive to buy something, but it doesn’t say anything about the sale going away. nothing about it is dishonest.

According to the FTC's guidelines, these kinds of practices are considered financial fraud. There was a pretty well known case where the shop for fallout 76 was sued for this exact thing.

Better get around to looking at it :)

ngl i wouldn't rlly call it a sale cuz they just keep it there but they do put a discount ig maybe kinda sure igigig

Very true, but it's not a scam. You're getting what you're paid for.
