No, but what I’m saying is players usually stay banned and that should change once they’ve proven their account is recovered

Then you came up with a point i had mistakenly overlooked, that the staff contribute more than players. This is my new and revised opinion

I'm pretty sure that the situation has been handled by the management who considered the past contribution and efforts by the staff member while deciding upon a consequence, if any. I'm also pretty sure a regular player would also have the same considerations if they appeal. Therefore it would be in accordance to both staff and players being accountable for the violation of any rule, which is included (usually on top) in every staff handbook/guide for a specific server. You can't really compare contributions from a player to staff obligations (two different things). Again it's a situation that you really can't control over, but it still remains your responsibility.
