1) Fresh start: you save all the files on your computer, uninstall Windows, reinstall it, install all the software you need.
2) Do you have an HDD or an SSD? If you have an HDD, get an SSD and install it in your computer for 10x performance.
3) Do you have a tower PC or a laptop? If you have a tower PC, and your CPU is properly cooled, you can try overclocking your CPU. (It may shorten its lifespan.)
4) Some linux distros are lighter than Windows. I've found that Zorin OS is very light and has a lot of features, including seamless integration with your phone and your Google Drive, and it's also made for the users switching from Windows to Linux.
