Before I begin, I would just like to acknowledge that I know this will be a very controversial/probably unpopular opinion. However, I do think that in the long run, it would be an interesting change to the server.
Recently, InvadedLands has reached a stagnant state. It can often be seen with only a few hundred players, much worse than many of its competitors, including other youtuber-run servers. Therefore, I believe that some sort of massive change/addition to the server is necessary to make the server more popular again.
I have a few different economical suggestions (most likely not all would be implemented, but having one or two would probably be good):
A: Have a Server-Wide Staff-Monitored Banking System (Preferably Insured)
Although it is very fun to play Survival, partly because of the 'real-life' (so to speak) applications of basic economic principles, one aspect that is missing is a bank. Currently, there is no easy way to make an investment bank on Survival for various reasons, one of these being the tendency for scams. It would be difficult for players to know that their money won't 'disappear' when loaning to banks, and the banks would have no incentive to accept loans with interest, as they themselves would be too scared to invest in other Invaded player-run 'companies' for similar reasons. So, I believe that the solution is a Player-Run but Staff-Monitored bank.
How would this work, you might ask? Note-This is not the only way it would work, and I'm sure there are various methods that would work MUCH better.
Various players (myself included if need be) could use their /bal in order to loan out various amounts to players at a certain interest rate (about 3% per in game day, depending on amount and economic state). If a player does not pay back their loan in time, the interest rate rises-if they fail to pay it back within a certain time period, staff would /tempban them for 'Scamming' (this is where Staff Monitored comes in). This way, players would have to give the money back eventually. (Obviously, if it were Staff Sponsered, bank workers would most likely be vetted).
However, players could worry that the bank may not pay them back when they invest their own money. This is where Staff-Insured would come in. If the bank ever runs out of all its money, it would get temporarily (or permanently) shut down, and staff would insure that all who were negatively affected would be reimbursed.
I believe that adding an official bank into Invaded Survival would make the server much more interesting to old members, and much more economically realistic and appealing to newer and potential members. It could even be a cool topic for some of Skeppy's videos, and a way to teach younger or inexperienced audiences basic economic practices.
B: Remove /ah
I believe that /ah is not very useful. Besides the issues with various duping glitches (which to the best of my knowledge have been patched), it also makes the economy very rigid. Players instantly know an estimate of current exchange rates, which makes the economics of Invaded Survival (the reason most players join) very boring. By removing it, trading would be more 'freestyle', which I think would be a welcome change.
C: Remove In-Game Currency
This is my most extreme suggestion, although I think it could prove very interesting. Many players on the server have gotten bored of the tedious grind to Baltop #1. By having a currency system, it makes Invaded Survival less of an 'open' gamemode and makes players have more of an 'endgoal'. Once they reach Baltop #1 (or even a certain goal they wanted, like 1st page), they are likely to quit or not play as often. It also forces the server to have a very rigid and simple economic structure.
By removing this the in-game currency, it would add another layer to Invaded's economy. Players would assign their own value to goods, and would have to create their own economic structures. Although it could be a bit complex for new players to understand, with updates to /tutorial (and if a Server Wide bank had current popular exchange rates), it could skyrocket the server's popularity and fame.
These are just my opinions though-feel free to reply with a differing viewpoint!
