I tried joining from 1.17 to see how the server was but I was greeted by an "Unknown host" error instead. Minecraft wouldn't ping it, however the ping command on my host

yeah at some point 1.17 will be compatible

(saw this thing on twitter, take with salt cuz twitter)
some servers have been blocked from 1.17, and invaded is one of them, because of not being eula compiant. which caused unbans to be removed to try to be more eula compiant to get unblocked by minecraft. this isnt a client issue, just mojang striking down on eula breaking servers
